Have tons of scrap yarn but don't know what to do with it? Learn how to combine colors to knit or crochet them into a one-of-a-kind neck tie!

We will use scrap yarn available at the CRC but you’re welcome to bring your own scrap yarn to use! Please bring your own knitting needles or crochet hooks, and stitch markers. Beginners are welcome but basic knowledge of knitting or crochet is required.

Our first day open at has been so special!

We really appreciate everyone’s positive and supportive energy and excitement about the new space and all the possibilities that it holds.

We are still smiling from the excitement of our first customer of the day, the delivery of cigar boxes from Uncle Jay, a donation of fabric from Auntie Zaza’s, a “welcome to the neighborhood” gift from the and the beginning of a new collaboration with .not.bombs.providence

We are inspired by all the creatives who surround us in the Valley neighborhood and loved visits from .us more!

When you come to visit the CRC we highly recommend a visit to and for tasty treats.

We can’t wait to see you tomorrow, June 10th when the Creative Reuse Center of RI opens at 50 Sims in Providence.

We are open Wed-Friday from 10-6 and Sat,Sun from 10-4.

Our entrance is a white door next to the big teal building. If you can’t find parking on Sims Ave, there is lots of space to park on Harris Ave.

The first and last hour of every shift are mask-required.

We are wheelchair accessible.

Please register for our Kids’ Maker Camp by May 30th!!

Announcing the 2026 CRC Kids' Makers Camp!

Join us in a hands-on camp where your child’s imagination will be in the driver's seat. At the CRC we have an abundance of materials to explore and create with. This year we will be working at the intersection of art and engineering creating murals, sculptures, Rube Goldberg Machines, fidgets and more all out of repurposed materials. Woven in between art creation will be lessons and insights into the importance of recycling and the impact pollution is having on our planet. Through art and engineering we can imagine new possibilities for our future, one where the planet and people live together in creative harmony.
