This particular job required a complete demo. We started with the floor tile once the tub was set, then we framed out the niche and hung the half inch rock so we can prepare for tile.  we used red guard to waterproof the shower walls and then laid our subway tile and custom-made our herringbone niche.

Tile is up now we just need to grout the walls.
