Some of the corset hardware finally came in today (the busk and boning) so, here is today's progress. I crocheted around both sides of the busk and added the boning to the cups. There's still a lot to do but it's starting to take shape.☺️

Today, I successfully completed one corset cup, incorporating a channel for the boning. The boning, made up of flat steel pieces, ensures the corset's structural integrity and helps allow for the desired cinching and lifting effects of the corset.

I also ordered the boning and real peacock feathers to embellish the corset later! 🦚 So far, the material cost is $55 (not including the yarn).

Project number one with the thrifted curtain tie back is finally completed! It was a long one this time, I wasn't sure I'd even finish it but I did.πŸ˜… Now I can move onto Victorian corset construction and maybe another curtain tie back project too.😌
If anyone is interested in purchasing, I can make this piece in any size, color, and add any custom elements you choose. πŸ’š

The corset design poll is now closed, and the chosen design is a Victorian and more historically accurate style. I was also given this peacock color palette, which made me think..... burlesque peacock corset! If you don't know, burlesque was a form of live performance that originated in the mid 19th century (Victorian Era). It was comedic and featured elaborate costumes but also strip teases and immodestly dressed women. This one is going to be extraordinary.πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

Daisy shorts update:
==================

One pocket on! I decided to attach it with a surface crochet stitch. It made a nice little border around the pocket and I think it will be stronger than if I hand sewed it, less time consuming too. This embroidery was very time consuming though.

As you can see, I changed the flowers because....well, I leveled up my embroidering skills.πŸ˜… Pretty proud of that. Never thought I'd master the dreaded French knot.
I also put an iron on patch on the back of the embroidery to protect the stitches, so this pocket is lined on one side.

Once I put the other pocket on it will finally be finished, but the hardest part is still yet to come.... figuring out how much to charge for these.πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ’° Any thoughts?

All the lace is sewn on now. I think it was a great addition. Next up, finishing the embroidery, sewing on the pockets, making small adjustments, and finally weaving in all those ends.πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Should I add anything else to this piece?πŸ€”πŸͺ‘🧢

Here's the latest project incorporating one of the thrifted curtain tie backs! It not done yet of course but here's the idea... a sort of bohemian look with pockets and embroidered daisy details. Embroidery is a skill I'm still working on but I think they're turning out nice. I plan on doing a lace edge or some sort of edge around the bottom of the legs.

On a side note, the pastel goth inspired top is finished! I just need to take some nice pictures hopefully with a real model instead of the dress form.βœ¨οΈπŸ¦‡

Edit:
Pinned some lace and as usual this piece is becoming more elaborate than I originally intended but just look at that detail now! Going to have a lot of sewing to do now.

I was given this bag of yarn from Goodwill that also had a bunch of curtain tie backs. I was just going to throw the tie backs away at first but then I thought.....well why don't I try to incorporate them into some projects! It could be a fun little challenge.😌

My first ideas have been to turn them into belts for crocheted bottoms, use them as straps for a top, or as handles for bags....how else could I use these?

You'll also see it came with a little roll of burlap too. I'm not sure how I'll use that yet but my goal is to try to use all of it so there's zero waste.πŸŒŽπŸƒ

Here's how the pastel goth inspired top is going so far. It's still very rough and needs to be blocked but I think I'm liking where it's going. I especially like the chains. 😁 This ones for all the spooky girls.πŸ’…πŸ¦‡βœ¨οΈπŸˆβ€β¬›
What do you think? Did I go a little too crazy with this one?
