Ever wondered what it actually takes to earn a degree in interior design?

Spoiler alert: It’s a little more than learning how to pick out pretty furniture.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Northern Arizona University, and I thought it would be fun to share a little peek at the coursework that went into it!

These are just the classes specific to my interior design degree, not including all the general education requirements along the way.

From drafting and space planning to building systems, materials, and everything in between, there’s a whole lot of technical knowledge behind the creative side of what we do.

Consider this a little peek behind the degree!

Some homes just need a little help becoming who they were always meant to be.

For , we’re starting with the bones. Every measurement, every wall, every little detail translated into CAD so we can begin seeing the possibilities beyond what’s there today.

Because sometimes the best transformations aren’t about starting over. They’re about seeing the potential that was there all along.

Stay tuned. She’s just getting started.

A little paint, a little sip, and a whole lot of fun!

Our first event was one for the books! We loved seeing our studio filled with creativity, laughter, and a few spooky masterpieces.

There’s something so special about bringing people together in a space we created to inspire connection and creativity beyond just interior design.

And this is only the beginning! We’ve got more fun gatherings coming this holiday season, plus a whole new lineup of events, educational workshops, and industry Q+As planned for 2027!

Consider this your official invitation to keep an eye on what’s happening at Wren House.

Laurel, Lately.

A new chapter, a fresh perspective, and a whole lot of potential.

We’re so excited to welcome Laurel, Lately to the Wren House project lineup! A home that’s about to get a thoughtful refresh, blending the beauty of what’s already there with new layers of warmth, character, and functionality for a growing family.

We’re just getting started, but we have a feeling this one’s going to be pretty special.

Follow along as Laurel, Lately comes to life!

In our defense, we’re not trying to make their lives harder. We just know what’s possible… and occasionally need them to figure out how it’s possible.

A clean job site says a lot more than you think.

One thing about me? I will ALWAYS notice the condition of a job site.

And yes, even as an interior designer, this matters to me.

Having spent time working on the general contracting side of the industry, I’ve seen firsthand how much the condition of a job site can reflect the organization, professionalism, and attention to detail behind a project.

It’s not about expecting perfection in the middle of construction. Construction is messy. We know that.

But there’s a difference between a job site that’s actively being worked on and one that’s being neglected.

Protecting installed materials, keeping walkways clear, properly storing products, and respecting the home we’re working in are all part of the process.

Because to me, the way we care for a home during construction matters just as much as the finished result.

And while I’m not the general contractor, you can bet I’m paying attention.

She’s got good bones. Literally.

Our Project is officially getting some structure, and this little casita is already making a BIG impression.

There’s something about the framing stage that we just love. No pretty finishes, no fancy lighting, no perfectly styled corners. Just the bones of a space and all the potential of what’s to come.

And while it might just look like a bunch of lumber right now, we see every little detail that’s been thoughtfully planned to make this space something special.

The good stuff is coming… but for now, we’re loving watching her find her footing.

Can we PLEASE talk about design cohesion for a second?!

I was scrolling through photos of a home currently listed here in Arizona, and while there are some really beautiful moments, there are also spaces that have me scratching my head.

Here’s the thing… your home should tell one cohesive story.

The architecture on the outside should have a relationship with what’s happening on the inside. That doesn’t mean every room needs to look identical or that you can’t mix styles, materials, or unexpected details. In fact, we LOVE a little contrast!

But there should be an intentional connection between the architecture, interior finishes, materials, and overall character of the home.

When you walk through the front door, the interior should feel like a natural extension of the exterior, not like you’ve entered an entirely different house.

And this is EXACTLY why we believe interior design should be part of the conversation from the very beginning of a project.

Cohesion doesn’t mean everything has to match. It means everything feels like it belongs.

Tell me… does it drive anyone else a little crazy when a home’s interior and exterior feel completely disconnected?!
