A new shipment of Kathmandu DK has arrived. This is a beautiful tweed blend of wool/cashmere/silk from Queensland. The swatch has a very nice hand. A sweater sample is on the needles. Yes, I have sweater quantities in the stock room. Come check out the lovely colors!

Last Saturday on LYS Day we started a KAL of Casapinka’s Colossal Fluff Up. I got a head start so that everyone could see how beautiful the pattern is. It’s not too late to join us. The pattern is now for sale on Ravelry. The shop has lots of pretty combinations of yarn that will work. Come join us!

Time to mark your calendars. Please support your local yarn shop by shopping on LYS Day, Saturday, April 25th. Several designers are going to be supplying patterns for free if you buy yarn to go with them. Some yarn companies are having raffles for yarn and more. It’s always a fun time!

How are you doing on your 40 days of finishing? I’m still at it. This week working on appropriately green sweater since it was St Patrick’s Day.

I’ve have used a Lazy Susan when working on sleeves in the past, but this is my new favorite. Use a bowl that has a smooth surface so it turns easily in your lap. The sleeves on this sweater are knitted flat from the shoulder down. I just give it a quarter turn in the proper direction at the end of each row. No more tangling around the sweater body! Make sure your bowl is unbreakable. This is I believe a melamine one. So much faster!

It’s been interesting today to see what other people are planning on knitting or crocheting while avoiding the weather this weekend. It’s not too late to start a project. I personally will be spending time on the Isle of Unfinished Sleeves.

Knit Your Dreams will be closing at 1 PM today, Friday January 9th, and will be closed tomorrow for a family funeral. It will reopen next Thursday, January 15th at 10 AM.
