🌙 Just a little update from the person behind Over the Moon Aromas… this is long but informative 💜
I realized I haven’t really explained what’s been going on behind the scenes with Over the Moon Aromas lately, and I figured it was probably time I did. 😅
If you’ve noticed that I’ve been really slow with making new products lately, I promise it’s not because I’ve stopped caring about my little business or don’t have things I want to make. Quite the opposite, actually. I have SO many things on my list that I want to make! 😂
Life has just gotten… really, really busy.
I have Lilly with me 24/7, and she’s at the age where she is into EVERYTHING no matter what. 😂 When I was making wax melts before, my dad would come watch her while I worked. That made such a huge difference because I could actually sit down and concentrate on what I was doing without her bumping the table making the hot wax slosh or trying to look at the very hot wax as I was melting and stirring. That's not very safe.
Now I’m trying to make products while having a little one running around so making certain products (like the wax melts) has become something I can only do when I actually have a safe opportunity to do so. 😅
Then there’s homeschooling both kids, keeping up with the house, cooking, cleaning, groceries, all the normal everyday stuff…
And this year brought a whole lot more on top of that.
My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer March 2nd of this year and passed away March 24th (not even a full month after being diagnosed), and my mom moved in with us as soon as my dad was diagnosed since he was here as well while on Hospice at the end of his life. My mom has since been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Dementia, and I’ve become her primary caregiver. So now I’m also handling her day-to-day care, doctor appointments, hospital visits, medications and everything else that comes with caring for an aging parent, while also dealing with everything that already was since my dad passed.
And on top of everything else, I was also told I probably have fibromyalgia earlier this year after my symptoms started becoming a major issue in early April. I’ve been dealing with a lot of pain, fatigue and other symptoms from it, along with having to make doctor and hospital visits to figure everything out and manage what’s going on. So even physically, I’ve been struggling quite a bit this year, which has made keeping up with everything even harder. 😞
This year has been a LOT emotionally, mentally, and physically.
Honestly, there have been several times this year where I’ve thought about just closing Over the Moon Aromas altogether because I feel like I haven’t been able to give it the time and attention that I used to.
And that has been really hard for me because I genuinely LOVE making my products. I love coming up with new ideas, making things, creating new scents and seeing people enjoy things that I made myself. 💜
So I’m still here. I’m still making things when I can. I still have a giant list of products I want to make, including the Supernatural, Galaxy, and Fallout wax melts, other new scents, and plenty of other things I’ve been wanting to work on. 😂
I’m just having to do everything at a much slower pace right now.
Over the Moon Aromas is a tiny, one-person, home-based business, and right now that one person is also a homeschool mom, homemaker, caregiver and about 47 other jobs at the same time. 😂😭
I’m doing the best I can with the time and energy I have.
I don’t know exactly what the next few months are going to look like, but I do know that I don’t want to give up on something I’ve put so much love and time into. So I’m going to keep making things whenever I can and keep building this little business at whatever pace life allows me to right now. 🌙💜
Thank you to everyone who has supported Over the Moon Aromas, whether you’ve bought something, shared a post, recommended me to someone, visited my website, or simply followed along. It genuinely means more to me than you know. 🥹💜
I’m still here. I’m still creating. I’m just doing it a little more slowly these days. And I also still have my products inside of Deja Brew Coffee House where you can shop in person and get some of the best drinks ever! 🌙✨
