Small business means constantly evaluating what’s working, what isn’t, and where your time is best spent.
After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to discontinue our Wednesday hours for the time being.
The truth is, Wednesdays produce no sales, I’m lucky if we even see a person that day. With foot traffic being lower overall, it makes more sense for us to use that time working on the parts of the business that happen behind the scenes and finding ways to help Maxilyn House continue to grow.
If you’ve ever owned a small business, you know that sometimes moving forward means making adjustments along the way.
Our hope is that this extra day allows us to focus on building a stronger future for Maxilyn House so we can continue serving our amazing community.
With that said, you’ll likely see some additional hour adjustments in the coming weeks. As school lets out for summer, we’re looking at opportunities to open earlier and stay open later on certain days to better serve our customers.
Having preschool-aged kids has definitely made navigating shop hours a challenge this past year, but we’ve adapted the best we could and will continue to do so. One of the realities of running a family business is that sometimes flexibility is necessary, and we’re always working to find the balance between being present for our family and being available for our customers.
Thank you for supporting local, shopping small, sharing our posts, attending workshops, and cheering us on. Every bit of support helps more than you realize and we could use all the help we could get right now to make this last 🫶
New hours:
Thursday & Friday: 12-6
