There is something special about making something for someone with intention, love, and gratitude. In my newest blog post, I’m sharing the meaning behind “Bakefulness” and the connection between the maker and the person receiving what was made. 🤍

✨ I've been dreaming...
One of the things I've missed most over the years isn't just baking—it's gathering around a table with good people, good conversation, and something homemade to share.
Lately, I've been working on a new idea through The Peaceful Bakehouse called Bakefulness—the practice of slowing down, creating with our hands, and finding connection through baking.
One workshop that's been on my heart is called Focaccia & Friendship. 🫒🌿🍞

Imagine spending an evening decorating beautiful focaccia with fresh herbs, vegetables, and seasonal ingredients, enjoying homemade baked treats, sharing stories, laughing with new friends, and then taking your bread home to bake and enjoy with your family.

It's about so much more than bread.
It's about community.
It's about slowing down.
It's about making something beautiful together.
Right now it's still in the planning stages, but I'd love to know...
💛 Is this something you would enjoy?
💛 Would you come with a friend—or come hoping to make one?

I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments. Your feedback means so much as I continue dreaming about what The Peaceful Bakehouse can become. 🌿

I wanted to share a little more about the heart behind The Peaceful Bakehouse.

For me, baking has always been more than just making something to eat. It can be a way to slow down, breathe, create with intention, and find a little peace in the middle of a loud world.

I’ve been calling this idea Bakefulness.

Bakefulness is baking with presence — letting the process become part of the peace. It’s the quiet of measuring flour, the warmth of bread rising, the comfort of making something with your hands, and the joy of sharing it with someone else.

I also believe the energy we bring into what we make matters. When something is baked with care, patience, and love, the person receiving it can feel that. Food has a way of carrying comfort. It can say, “you are thought of,” “you are welcome,” or “you are not alone” without needing many words.

My hope for The Peaceful Bakehouse is to create more than baked goods. I want this to become a place for reflection, creativity, community, and connection — a “come with me” space, not a “look at me” space.

Whether it’s through bread, simple recipes, classes, creative kits, or gentle conversations around the table, I hope this little corner becomes a reminder that we can slow down, begin again, and find beauty in ordinary moments.

Welcome to The Peaceful Bakehouse. I’m so glad you’re here. 🍞🤍

Attention: Bakers, Makers and Creators! New on the blog: Grace in the Bakehouse, Part 5 — From Survival Mode to Presence

This one is a reflection on slowing down, reconnecting, and finding grace in the everyday rhythms of baking.

It’s about the difference between creating and producing, the energy we carry into what we make, and how baking can bring us back to presence when the world feels too loud.

Take a coffee/tea break and enjoy! Let me know your thoughts and how you can relate to this, I would love to hear your stories!

I write this letter with love and remembrance to my dear Father, I love and miss you everyday. We will make it through the tough days. Peace, love, and light to you all.

Dear Dad, Today is your birthday. You would be 78 years old. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Dad. There is so much we need to catch up on. So much I wish I could tell you face-to-face. So many questions I…

Grace in the Bakehouse — Learning to Listen

For a long time, her answer had always been to keep going. If something felt off, she worked harder. If something didn’t feel right, she pushed through. Effort had always been her language — the way she solved problems, proved her worth, and kept everything moving forward. But lately, that response didn’t feel as solid as it once had. The vision she carried now — quiet but persistent — made it harder to ignore what her body had been trying to say for years: the fatigue, the emotional weight, the way certain days felt heavier than they should....
