What does Day Support Services at Amivie really look like?

It looks like confidence growing during a cooking class.
Friendships forming during community outings.
Creativity coming to life through art, music, and hands-on activities.
Volunteering, learning new skills, exploring interests, and building greater independence — one day at a time.

At Amivie, our SPARK program is designed around the individual. No two people have the same goals, strengths, or interests, which means no two support plans look exactly alike. We focus on helping every person feel connected, empowered, included, and supported in living their fullest life.

For many individuals and families, Day Supports become more than a program — they become a community.

If you know someone with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD) and want to learn more about support options, we would love to start the conversation.

Please join us in welcoming Emily Toll to Amivie as Regional Vice President of Minnesota!

Emily brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across senior living, healthcare operations, and community-based care, with a strong background in assisted living, memory care, adult foster care, adult day services, and home- and community-based services.

Throughout her career, Emily has been passionate about helping individuals receive the right care, in the right setting, with the right support — always with a focus on dignity, compassion, and person-centered care.

In her new role, Emily will work closely with teams, referral partners, and communities across Minnesota to support continued growth and expand access to high-quality services for the individuals and families we serve.

Emily lives in Cottage Grove, Minnesota with her husband and their three children, where life is usually filled with sports, activities, and a busy family schedule. She also shared a fun fact with us — she has been a vegetarian for more than 30 years!

We are excited to have Emily’s leadership, experience, and heart for service as part of the Amivie team.

Home and community-based care changes lives — and protecting access to these services matters.

Recent discussions surrounding Rhode Island’s SFY26 budget proposal have highlighted the critical importance of continued investment in home care and community-based services that allow seniors and individuals with disabilities to remain safe, supported, and independent at home.

Proposed changes impacting Medicaid reimbursement rates, behavioral health training support, and provider funding could have long-term effects on the sustainability of care services and the individuals and families who rely on them every day.

At Amivie, we know that quality home and community-based care does more than provide support — it preserves dignity, independence, connection, and quality of life.

We remain committed to advocating for strong, sustainable services that support caregivers, providers, and the communities we serve.

Our team member Stacy Watson attended the 2026 I/DD Legislative Caucus in North Carolina on April 29th and had a moment to speak with both Representative Paul Scott and Senator Ted Alexander.

This year's Caucus addressed key issues involving I/DD supports and services, including the waiting list, the workforce, and funding.

Stacy raised concerns regarding 1915i barriers to service, the need to fund the Medicaid program, the blunt approach to strict oversight of services, and invited them to visit us & discuss these issues with other members of our team.

We applaud Stacy's efforts to join the discussions that shape policies that impact community living, independence, and essential supports.

Amivie was proud to attend the NC AHHC & Hearts for Home Care event on May 13, joining more than 185 advocates, caregivers, providers, and families in support of stronger home and community-based care across North Carolina.

Throughout the day, advocates met directly with state representatives to share powerful personal stories about the life-changing impact of Medicaid home care and community-based services. The event focused on the urgent need to expand access to care at home and prioritize funding that helps medically vulnerable individuals remain safe, supported, and independent in their communities.

Amivie’s VP of Government Relations, Richard Edwards, was proud to take part in these important conversations, including meeting with Rep. Mary Belk to advocate for continued investment in home and community-based care.

It was inspiring to stand alongside such a strong coalition of healthcare professionals, families, and organizations united around one shared goal: protecting and strengthening access to care.

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue advocating for the individuals and families we serve every day.
