🧺🫧At the moment having a fully functional laundry room makes me green with envy. You see my drier died about a month ago. We tried to fix it as I am firmly in the “why don’t they build it to last as they used to” camp … anywho it was time to upgrade to the mate for my washer and converting to a gas drier for more energy efficiency. Spoiler alert that makes things take a little longer. while I’m patiently waiting (and hanging clothes to dry and borrowing the neighbors drier) let’s oogle at this lovely laundry space for a busy family of 6. I frequently tell clients during the selections process, “I’m going to show you something that is out of your comfort zone. I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t push you a little.” I am so grateful for clients who trust me because the end product is a cheerful functional space!

Im just back from my PTA mom duties spiffing up the coffee stations at my youngest son’s school. Which means back to school is eminent! When you have a dedicated space to control the chaos the exits and enters your home every day life is so much better in my opinion! Hooks for backpacks & jackets, and roll out (vented!) drawers for sneakers and cleats … this mudroom is ready for school! 📚✂️✏️📓📝🚸👟

Frequently new builds need a little bit of character added to their bones. After the main builder wrapped up we got to work! By adding a beautiful coffered ceiling, custom built ins, and absolutely beautiful wide plank hardwood floors the timeless character was added to the basic bone structure of this family room. The family friendly furnishings were the cherry on top of the sundae. Classic style in a timeless color palate will house many happy family memories for years to come!

This kitchen really is the heart of the home for this growing family. The directive when we started this project was simple: welcoming with timeless elegance while also being a true workhorse of a catering style kitchen. I think we achieved that wouldn’t you say? I love seeing the spaces that have been meticulously planned and tweaked over many months come to life with the magic that is created each and every day.

This time tomorrow (if the weather cooperates) there will be smiling faces and splashes galore at this neighborhood pool. I volunteered my time to help give it a little facelift. I just went to a lovely tear filled mass to celebrate the life of my friend Ralph. Ralph left his mark on many of my projects over the years as my favorite seamster. His wit, sass, and devotion were unmatched. He always focused on the little details that seemed so simple but meant so much. He adored when I brought my boys or my pups by to visit, always treating them to a pack of nabs or a milkbone. I think it’s fitting I re-hung the last drapes he made for my home after a fresh coat of paint in my dining room this week. I will miss seeing my friend sneaking a 🚬 and reminding me when it was time for a 🥃. “Child, that’s why I drink” was usually an answer to all of life’s questions. He celebrated the beauty big and small and will be greatly missed.

✨Mega Glow Up✨ This primary bath went through an amazing transformation. I re-designed the vanity and shower layout and was able to add in, wait for it, a soaker tub! We took out a built in linen closet & replaced it with a pantry style cabinet that gained valuable inches we needed and far more organized storage to boot. The best part? There is a hidden laundry hamper to contain the 🧺 + those mirrors are medicine cabinets! Swipe for before, and always remember I am a designer not a photographer 📸

I got to take in this finished guest bath yesterday in all of its glory. It’s elegant and fits with the character of this older home. We added some hidden accessibility features for the “just in case” future like removing the tub and adding a zero entry shower with hidden blocking for grab bars if they ever become needed. We replaced a standard window with this fixed frosted option to let as much light in as possible while also having privacy. The marble countertop and custom designed backsplash is the chefs kiss of the details!
