One of my favorite ways to begin designing a room is to determine the base layer and I’m talking about rugs whether it’s a broadloom carpet that will be bound with custom trim, leather or fabric, an area rug, or a custom color and pattern we’re having made to suit the overall design, a rug creates the foundation for the upholstery and casework furniture. It defines the seating areas, the circulation in a space and acts as the first layer of the design.
