1864 Civil War Era 2-Cent Piece - $25
An original Two-Cent coin from the Civil War era. This was produced by the United States Mint for circulation for only 8 years, to eventually be replaced by the more popular Nickel. It was the first U.S. coin to feature the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" on it. I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman, NC or can ship for $6 if needed.

1965, 1966, and 1967 Lincoln Cent Collection - Gem SMS Set - $15
During the 1960’s when America stopped minting silver coins collectors began hoarding them all and a coin shortage developed. To help alleviate the problem the U.S. Mint stopped producing Proof Sets. Thus, collectors had to rely on Special Mint Sets (SMS) that the mint made instead. These sets became the main source for collectors to find the best coins from these years. This set contains all three SMS pennies from 1965-1967. I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman NC or can ship for $6 if needed.

1938-D/S Indian Head Buffalo Nickel Graded MS65 by NGC - $175
In 1938 there were no Buffalo Nickels minted in San Francisco. Thus, all their dies were shipped to Denver where the D mintmark was punched over an already existing S mint mark. This Mint State example was graded MS65 by NGC. I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman NC or can ship if needed.

1972 Type 2 Eisenhower "Ike" Dollar - PCGS MS64 - $250
The 1972 Type 2 Eisenhower Dollar is the key coin to the entire series. This variety was only struck from one known reverse die. This is one of the primary reasons why there are so few examples available compared to any other date and mint mark of this series. All 1972 Eisenhower Dollars should illustrate several countries or islands below Florida but on the 1972 Type 2 coins the islands are very flat and almost indistinguishable.

The 1972 Type 2 Eisenhower Dollar was accidentally struck with a reverse die intended for proof coins only. A typical circulation strike die producing Eisenhower Dollars at the time was producing about 100,000 coins each. Therefore, more than likely less than 40,000 coins of this variety exist in all grades combined since many of them circulated and have considerable wear making them hard to identify. Also, many others coins have been lost over the years.

I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman, NC if interested.

1979 Wide Rim/Near Date Susan B. Anthony Dollar - $15
The "Wide Rim" (or "Near Date") Susan B. Anthony dollar is a scarce variety produced by dies that were altered part way through the year making the date sit significantly closer to the thick outer rim compared to regular issues. I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman, NC or can ship if needed.

1873 5-Cent Shield Nickel - $20
An 1873 Shield Nickel, the first United States five-cent piece to be made from copper-nickel. This one is heavily worn with old corrosion. It’s hard to make out the date. With the bare eye it looks like maybe it’s an 1872 but using a loop I’m pretty sure it is an 1873. It could be the “Closed 3” variety, but it’s hard to tell for sure. I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman, NC or can ship if needed.

1817 Coronet Variety Large Cent - 15 Star Variety - $25
This date is celebrated for producing two varieties, the regular 13-star variety and the rarer one with 15 Stars—one of the most famous die errors in 19th-century numismatics. The obverse shows 15 stars, noticeably closer together. This was a die-engraving error. The engraver punched the stars too close together and, rather than discard the expensive die, added two extra stars to "balance" the design. I meet at the Food Lion in Randleman, NC or can ship if needed.
