👋 Hey everyone. I'm still around, haven't jumped ship. I've just been sick a lot recently and have also been dealing with some personal crap. Who isn't? Sure you all get it. Anywho. This is what I've been up to recently. By recently, I mean since the last time I posted 😉 Swipe for nature goodies, my most recent and exciting book mail from thrift books, and another project that's mostly complete- but I can't stop fiddling with it 🤷‍♀️🙃

Hey there, fellow travelers 👋 Swipe to see my current project in progress 🙃 It's a bit further along than this photo, I'm actually nearly finished. Just some fun autumn, Detritus, to keep me busy before I head to Vegas this weekend for WWWY.
Still haven't found any mushrooms in our area this week, but I did find something interesting I've never seen growing locally before. A huge patch of blue passion flower growing along a difficult-to-access section of the Sacramento River weighed down with dozens of fruits!
These little fellas are technically edible. However, they are full of cyanogenic glycocide (essentially cyanide), so they really shouldn't be eaten in any volume. After checking these ones out, I discovered they're a sterile hybrid - totally empty of any fruit inside! Weird but fun find 😁

FYI, after combing the hills and mountains of northern Cali low and high this weekend, I no longer believe in mushrooms 😂 Okay. Not really. But it's been one of those weeks where I've literally not seen a mite of mushroom evidence other than the holes they used to occupy lol
Time to retreat, and get some r&r tonight 😁✌️

SWIPE for Redwood Forest goodness 😊 My partner and I have been working particularly hard towards reaching our goals lately, so we treated ourselves to a cheap, car camping hippie weekend trip to Humboldt and hit the micro festival on the hill for the first time. It was sooo worth the drive to get that ocean air and cool off while we did some forest hiking and mushroom hunting! Then we spent most of the night listening to great music and watching the super talented performers out at
Can not possibly say enough good things about the Humboldt area, no matter how much love I throw their way over the years 🫶 It is such an incredible, inspirational, and beautiful place; full of equally incredible, inspirational, and beautiful people! I'll never get enough 🥰

Hey there 👋 I've been working on several new things with texture and having a great time with it! Haven't spent as much time sharing it as I probably should, however 😄. So here's a nice detail macro of some beadwork in wool and moss, which I'll have in the shop soonish.
If you've been around more so for the nature bits recently, swipe on my fellow travelers 😉 I found an exciting score for mid September yesterday afternoon, and the view wasn't bad either 😊

Hey there, fellow travelers! I haven't been online much, and I thought I'd tell you all a bit more about the why and about what I've been up to!
First, the above Pic is my first totally foraged, home blended tisane. I'm going to be honest, it did not taste great 😂 but it did help me sleep and it did make my dreams quite vivid. The second pic is my first Big Sagebrush smudge. It burned SO well! I think my great grandma would have been impressed. I've been in the mountains and the desert, A LOT. Our family has a bit of property in each and I've been spending the last 6 months learning everything I can about the plants available on each parcel, as well as their ethnobotanical values. I'm VERY interested in continuing to advance my education in herbalism, but it is a VERY time-consuming endeavor. I am, however, completely enamored with the entire process. I'm SO glad that I took plant ID classes, pest ID, and IPM classes a few years back for general gardening interest. The info has helped enormously in this new endeavor.
Also, after speaking with a lot of fiber art enthusiasts on the consumer end of things, I've been focusing on larger projects, which obviously take more time to complete 😉 So, if you've always appreciated the art form but wished the pieces were bigger- they're coming! My next shop update on etsy will be mid-June and there will be at least a half dozen new bigger babies to adopt.

Wanted to drop a line to let ya'll know my art inventory is 50% off for the foreseeable future😊 So if you've seen something and loved it but it just wasn't in your price range, now is the time to take advantage! My family will be moving into a tiny home this summer, near my husband's parents to be close to them during their remaining years. My own Mom had to medically retire last year after a patient attacked her and broke her spine in several places, so this move is going to be a dramatic change for our entire family. Involving A LOT of downsizing and figuring out how we're all going to be comfortable in such tight quarters. Obviously, I don't want to stop making artwork 😉 The majority of my art is stored vertically and individually so they aren't damaged. So, I need to get rid of my existing inventory so that I'll have room to work!
