🌟The day has arrived for new prints to be available in my shop! I am so excited to be able to offer prints in 3 different sizes and create more artwork for prints than I ever have before. These particular prints will be printed and fulfilled by a printing partner, which means whatever I create I can sell without the overhead of printing them and packaging them myself. YAY! More art for you!

I will be honest I have been skeptical of "print on demand" for years....and it has taken this long to try it out. However, I have ordered and received samples of these and they turned out great and are now even hanging in my office.

This is a completely new adventure for me in my business and I am SO excited! Let me know what art print "subjects" you want me to create. I would love to hear! I plan to come out with new designs every month.

Exciting announcement that ✨NEW✨ prints are coming to the shop on March 8th! I will have a new collection every month to share with you and I couldn't be more excited. This will be the first time that I have ever had monthly new releases of art to my shop, so for me...it's a big deal!

This print is called "Matilija poppies," which is one of California's largest poppy and looks almost like a fried egg. They are one of my favorite flowers to see
on walks in our town. You can find this print hanging above my desk in the picture of my studio here on instagram. It's gorgeous printed at a large scale!

I've been quiet here...and so many new faces have arrived! Welcome to my little corner. 🧡Life has been full and I have been dog paddling to keep up with all the tasks that seem to come along with being a wife, mother, and business owner. Anyone else spinning plates constantly...and perhaps dropping a few?

Along with dog paddling and spinning plates, I have been making some new investments in my business which always is a bit scary. In December, I decided to take on another studio space just for me to work in and start filming some classes/courses. I have wanted to create video content for quite sometime and now I finally have the space to do it.

Each month that passes as I continue this journey as a creative entrepreneur...the more and more I am confronting fear head on. I recently heard you have three choices in life.

Give up. Give in. Or, Give it all you got.

This year I am releasing a lot of fear I have of creating classes and all the thoughts of: What if I can't figure out the tech? What do people actually want to learn from me? What if I'm not good on camera? What if, what if, what if....

I'm giving it all I got in letting go. I cannot wait to bring my classes into the world this year! Creatives stay tuned. 🧡

True vulnerable story alert. I used to not allow myself to draw flowers. Why you may ask? Because they were "too easy" for me and nothing seemed special about them. It's rather silly, but I felt like if I made designs with flowers on them I was being lazy and that my art wouldn't be special.

If you are into the Enneagram, I am an Enneagram 4: The Individualist. I found this online that describes a little about this type: "Fours cultivate a self-image rooted in being different, hoping that people will notice their individuality and affirm them."

*Me curling into a ball reading this*

It makes me cringe how much simple things like drawing flowers makes me feel like I am not expressing my "individuality" enough. Thankfully I have allowed myself to draw flowers in my own way, but this deep rooted desire to be special holds me back in so many ways. Thoughts like "I can't teach that class because someone else is doing it" or "Should I change my color palette?...it's looking too much like someone else's" are common thoughts that I have.

I share this because I am always trying to learn how to dismantle the ways that I am getting in my own way. I don't think my desire to express my individuality will never go away (nor do I really want it to), but I don't want it to hold me back.

I am curious do you have any "silly" ways you may be holding yourself back and what Enneagram number are you? (if you are into that sort of thing). 🙃

Several months ago I set a timer for 30 minutes and drew this. It was a challenge to see if I could force myself to create quickly and not overthink things....and this was the result!

As someone who continues to struggle with perfectionism, doing an exercise like this was very helpful for me to get out of my own way. Lately, I have been tweaking and fussing over my new card designs. They should already be done and I need to move forward with printing.

So coming across this piece today buried in my ipad and was just the reminder I needed. Hope it encourages you too! 🌿🧡
