It’s a good day when all of your favorites from Retrosaria Rosa Pomar come in! We are fully restocked in Matiz, Vovo, and Mondim. Plus wooden and recycled shell buttons. Matiz always flies off the shelves once it’s in, so we doubled up on the stock hoping that more folks would get to use this lovely Aran weight yarn. It is worsted spun with a pleasant squishy touch that makes it perfect for warm sweaters and cozy cardigans. We have ALL THE COLORS.

Our most popular yarn last week was the most popular yarn when we first opened: Silk Blend from Manos del Uruguay Yarns . It was unavailable for a minute, but it’s back and just as soft, shiny, and delightful as we remember! A DK weight yarn that is soft and shiny, Silk Blend gives good stitch definition to cables and other texture patterns. Its jewel-like colors work beautifully in stranded colorwork designs. We especially love it for shawls, cowls, and scarves.

We added even more colors with this latest order. Check them all out in the shop or online.

Our first Fiber Friday Night is this week! Join us on Friday night 5-8pm for community crafting in the shop. BYO-project and start the weekend off right. Good company, a lovely space, and dedicated craft time. What could be better?

DreaReneeKnits just released her latest sweater pattern and we’ve got some great options for you, including recommended yarns in the pattern. For this super-sweet sweater you’ll want to wear every day, there are two options: (1) a fi*****ng weight and lace weight held double or (2) a light worsted weight worked on its own. Here we go…

For option 1:
The closest match to her recommendations is BC Garn • Natural & sustainable yarns • Born in Denmark Bio Balance held with Candice English Oh Dang! We love this combination. A lightweight cotton/wool blend with the soft halo and color dimension in Oh Dang! It’s a great match and a great sweater for our climate.

We also like the idea of using Kelbourne Woolens Perennial held with Oh Dang. As you likely know, these are some of our favorite yarns in the shop and the color combinations plus the silky soft feel would be a dream!

For option 2:
We have Woolstok Worsted from Blue Sky Fibers for a softer, classic sweater.

A second option (Theresa is jumping for joy with the thought of this…) is Quartet Worsted from Magpie Fibers . She thinks it would be a bold statement sweater that would still be a versatile wear-any-day wardrobe piece.

Our most popular yarn last week was a shop favorite: Scout by Kelbourne Woolens . Let’s talk about why … gorgeous colors, crisp stitch definition, a versatile DK weight, and it’s super durable.

Scout is put up in a generous 100 gram, 274 yard hank. It’s unique in that it is a heather, meaning multiple colors are pre-blended prior to spinning to create a shade with depth and variation. You’ll see it in the shop when you look closely at each skein; even the softest shades have a lot of visual interest.

You love it, we love, it’s a great option for any garment. We’re happy to help you find the perfect pattern. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Kayla Color of the Month is here for October and it’s so good! Bright, bold color (even some neon?) but it’s still autumnal. It’s magic!

We only get a handful of skeins every month, so make sure to grab yours in the shop or online. Fi*****ng weight superwash merino and nylon. 473 yards/100 grams.
