Since I’ve gotten a lot of new followers since my art residency, I thought I’d make a post introducing myself!
My names Ems. I’m 32 years old, a wife, a cat mom, a daughter, and a friend. I am the owner and founder of The Witch’s Stitches.
I picked up my first crochet hook at 5 years old, and got basic lessons from my grandmother. Over the years I have been mostly self taught, learning everything from mostly YouTube.
I battle endometriosis, which is something that I have tied into my work a lot over the years. Crocheting is what keeps me from doing crimes and what keeps me sane and less anxious during my flares and surgeries.
I am also a recovering alcoholic and a 3x cancer survivor.
I started The Witch’s Stitches when I was recovering from endometriosis surgery almost a year ago to the date. I was looking for ways to make money when I couldn’t work. This is when I decided to share my art with the world.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my small business. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to share my art and give so freely what was given to me by my grandmother. My grandmother passed away when I was 20 but I will carry everything she’s taught me forever.
