Pictured below are newly cut Sodalite cabochons for another bracelet that I will make later this week. Busy today cutting slabs of my new puzzle pattern agate and cut and polished a nice white quartz and amethyst cabochon. Lots of clean up done and more to do in and around the shop. The mud dried up, but we have 3 days of rain/snow predicted in coming week...sigh.

Last week you saw the stones, now it's a finished bracelet (finally). Seems like there was something always getting in the way just as I wanted to set down and work on this. Hand made with .925 silver it is now for sale on $125 with free shipping.

Pictured below are 7 colorful little stones I cut & polished last night. They are an Australian jasper called Mookaite; a popular stone for several years. I hope to have used them in a silver bracelet in a few days. It would make a fun piece of jewelry to wear.

Here is a little project I made about a month ago for a grandfather to give his granddaughter on her 12th birthday. He said she wasn't a rock hound yet, but did have an interest in pretty rocks and crystals.
So after some thought, I came up with the idea of a dresser top trinket holder (earrings, change, etc) decorated with a small quartz drusy geode piece, a couple of tumble polished rose quartz and a small double terminated amethyst crystal. He said she loved it.

Below is a pic of a polished agate slab found by a friends wife near mile marker 17 on hwy 32 between Apache Creek and Quemado. It is one of two slabs cut from that agate. 1/2" thick and about 5" long and 3" wide. A dark root beer color with clear and white banding inside. Quite attractive for a collector or home decor.

Given a new agate rough supply for my store; my friend in Quemado brought over 60 to 70 lbs of agate from Gila county Arizona. What he brought is surface material that is heavily oxidized on it's surface. From what can be seen before cutting it, it appears to be a banded or lace agate. So I've been busy cutting some to get it ready to put in the store for sale. Turned out to be a
pretty red/brown and white colored agate with some bands and occasional lace, but with very unorganized patterns. My friend said there was quite a bit of it and he would bring some more for me to sell, so I needed to come up with some type of name for it and finally decided it was a puzzle pattern agate (lol).

Here is a stone I recently finished for a friend. It had already been preformed to it's outline of a modified diamond shape, so I only needed to grind a dome shape on the top. Then normal sanding with progressively finer diamond grit until the desired polish was reached. It's an amethyst called chevron amethyst because of the V shape of it's color bands. It's a very large cab and deeper in thickness than normal in an effort to maintain it's depth of color.

Finally 2022 is gone; it has been a very rough year for me health wise. In May I was sanding the paint off of my picket fence and did not realize the amount of fine paint dust that I was inhaling until it was too late. Then just as my lungs were beginning to heal some in the first week of June the virus caught up with me. Between the two, my lungs are severely damaged and it is only now that I am able to handle much physical activity.
On the bright side I have established a presence on an online market place called Bonanza and am slowly adding things to sell. You can find me at . So I hope to be active here again and you all can find my post interesting.

Two more jewelry repairs done. The buckle was difficult as it is constructed from two different metals and the brass portion is gold plated. The customer is happy so I guess I did okay.

More jewelry repairs finished and some more to do.
