FARMSTAND OPEN 😁

Dahlias, Garlic, Spaghetti Squash

Open Friday Oct 16th and Saturday Oct 17th 8am- 6pm or sold out of dahlias.
I’ll update this post once we are sold out!

They are calling for a FROST tonight, making this our last salable weekend of the local flower season 😊🤗 I hope you can share this post with someone local to help share about this BEAUTIFUL FLORALS that won’t be available again until tulips in May 💐

PS: we are a working farm so be aware of equipment and people. The farmstand is the only area open to people this weekend.

This dahlia felt like it was literally WAVING 👋 at me from the field!

7 days from now is calling for a FROST😭 so I’m opening the Farmstand SATURDAY, October 10th 8am till sold out for wrapped dahlia bunches! No u-pick, just swing by and pickup a pre-picked bouquet of flowers from the fields. $20 cash or Venmo

Garlic and spaghetti squash will also be available for purchase 🧄

Austin: “Joelle- hold the cover crops like you hold your flowers for harvest photos”

Joelle: “um okay” 😊🥰🤣💐

The cow calf pairs are LOVING their life on pasture. They are eating peas, radish, turnip, kale, sorghum, and oats as they munch through their rotations. We (and the cattle) are grateful for the rains recently to help this cover crop pasture grow to be nutritious feed.

Another benefit for rotationally grazing is that these ruminants (animals with four compartments to their stomach) fertilize the soil with their manure.

As fall arrives we won’t have the green growth for ever, but we are smiling while it is here!

PS: when Austin and I first started dating, we were saying the usual Our Father, then a little Hail Mary and then BAM this magical Prayer for Rain I had never heard of. All of us humans rely on water for our way of life, but this prayer just hits different to a person who needs rain to feed their animals and people. I hope you can add the Prayer for Rain to your list of prayers ✝️

Nurse Rachel totally crushed her u-pick bouquet ❤️

How Rachel is like the “ideal” flower u-picker:

1️⃣ she cut long LONG STEMS to respect the ever growing plant and consider her tall vase she is taking these florals home to. It made it easier for her to arrange them and didn’t have leaves in the way.

2️⃣ she allowed herself to be an AMATEUR and knew her arrangement didn’t need to look like a florist made it- she just needed to be proud of it herself. This girl rocks her nursing career and family life, and today rocked this bouquet!

3️⃣ she laughed with her company, smiled at the beauty, and took her time to literally STOP and SMELL the roses, I mean BASIL 🌿 (we don’t grow roses) 😉

We hope you get the opportunity yet this season to be like Rachel and pick some flowers I have been growing for literally 7 months 🙌🏼🥰

🌿 U-PICK DETAILS
📅 Saturday, September 19th
⏰ Start picking at 8:00 AM
🚗 You may arrive anytime between 8:00–10:30 AM

Plan to spend about 30 minutes–1.5 hours at the farm.

💐 PRICING
$25 per provided vessel you’ll be able to create your own beautiful bouquet from the flowers available in the fields.

And because it’s important to me that families can enjoy this experience together- kids have their own option:
🌼 $10 for 10 stems per child with a purchase of an adult

Any child who is old enough, safe enough, and responsible enough to be in the flower fields can participate in the kids’ U-Pick!

💵 PAYMENT
Cash or Venmo

When you arrive, please:

1. Park in front of the white detached garage - this is the farmstand.
2. Come into the farmstand and sign in in the guest book.
3. Pay for your U-Pick inside the farmstand.
4. Olivia will then take you out to the flower fields to learn harvest instructions and start picking! 🌸

✂️ I HAVE ALL THE SUPPLIES YOU NEED!

👟 A FEW IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
• Wear shoes that can get dirty or damp — the fields are typically wet in the morning.
• Please stay in the designated flower-picking areas and follow the harvesting instructions.
• No pets, please. 🐾🚫
• Little ones are welcome as long as they are safe and responsible enough to be in the flower fields.

Last week was a BLAST! Come be a part of a sweet Saturday morning in the country at Fields of Plenty and pick your own bouquet straight from the flower fields!

🌿 U-PICK DETAILS
📅 Saturday, August 29th
⏰ Start picking at 8:00 AM
🚗 You may arrive anytime between 8:00–11:30 AM

Plan to spend about 30 minutes–1.5 hours at the farm, depending on how quickly you harvest, how many flowers you choose, and, of course, how many people you end up chatting with along the way. 😉
