Tall two-story foyer and great-room windows are beautiful, but they can be difficult to reach. The same is true for stairwell windows, above-sink windows, and windows tucked behind heavy furniture.

Motorized and battery-operated shades make everyday light and privacy control effortless without changing your architecture.

Our latest blog explains the details that matter: hardwired low-voltage power versus battery operation, remote, wall, app, and voice controls, scheduling, and quiet motors matched to the shade size and fabric weight. Fabric openness and lining still play an important role in how the room feels, too.

The right drapery style can change the entire feeling of a room.

Pinch pleat offers a tailored, timeless look. Euro pleat feels clean and contemporary. Ripplefold creates smooth, even movement with a modern finish. Rod pocket brings a relaxed, traditional feel. Grommet styles are casual and streamlined, while ring-top drapery adds decorative detail and easy movement.

Your choice also affects fullness, movement, stack-back, and how beautifully the fabric performs over time. That is where technical expertise matters.

At Serendipity Designs, every custom window treatment begins with a specialized consultation to help you choose the right style, fabric, fullness, and hardware for your space.

Awkward proportions, unusual placement, light, and privacy needs do not have to limit a beautiful room.

The right custom treatment begins by studying the architecture already there. Mounting drapery higher or wider can create balance, while the right fullness and pleat style bring proportion and polish. For added function, shades can be layered beneath drapery for light control and privacy.

The goal is simple: work with the windows you have and create a solution that feels intentional from every angle.

Before you buy anything new, take a fresh look at the linens you already have. A beautifully dressed bed begins with a thoughtful base, then builds with a coverlet or duvet folded to create depth and structure.

Balance crisp layers with soft texture. Vary scale through your pillows and patterns. Then edit with intention: each pillow should add comfort, shape, or visual interest.

Small adjustments can make a familiar bedroom feel beautifully refreshed. Read the full blog on the Serendipity Designs website for more practical styling ideas, then schedule a specialized consultation in Dallas, Richardson, Plano, or Frisco.

The next chapter can be beautifully useful. 🤍

The curtains, textiles, or heirlooms you already love may have a beautiful new life as custom pillows, cushions, or other soft goods.

Begin by assessing the fabric’s condition. Let the pattern and scale guide the shape, while protecting delicate or treasured materials with thoughtful construction. Then customize every detail: from the insert and piping to the trim and reverse.
