Stella poses whenever she sees me aiming in her direction. First pic…emerging from the ostrich fern patch behind her while being careful (Haha) to not step on the delicate maidenhair fern in front of her. Second pic…smell inspection looking for rabbits in the GoldenCorner of the front yard. This year’s GoldenCorner includes Rudbeckia, three shades of marigolds, orange cosmos, and Red Spread Lantana. Yes….we will be Dorey Farmers Market, Inc. tomorrow morning (9-noon) with the last of the cockscomb (sadly). A short but prolific season this year. Will have lots of gorgeous zinnias, marigolds and gomphrena! Rain or shine.

This week’s home subscribers will receive bountiful bouquets all filled with plenty of amaranth and celosia! Some will include cheerful marigolds , while others will have sunflowers as the main vase attraction. I personally deliver arrangements so I can properly introduce you to new varieties that I am growing and to old favorites. DM me if you are interested in becoming a subscriber.

Yes we will have plenty of blooms at this weekend’s market (August 15) Dorey Farmers Market, Inc. but we will ALSO be bringing my favorite peppers! I fell in love last summer with First met him on a pizza special at my favorite pizzeria Then I started buying them from one of my favorite local growers at the tent next to ours at Dorey Started my own plants this spring and have been harvesting and eating them but I can’t eat ALL of them so look for some amongst our flower bouquets this week. They are the best roasting, sautéing, pickling peppers I have ever eaten. I just know when you try them you will fall in love too!

Most of my bouquet beauty shots are bathed in natural sunlight with light backgrounds. I absolutely love the very dramatic dark background photo treatment that one of my home subscribers (thank you Tricia Pearsall) used in these two shots. The first photo is of today’s arrangement. The second photo was taken in April …viburnum accompanied by bleeding hearts and iris. So beautiful.
