Although we specialize in the big picture, building, renovating or decorating your whole home, we love a detail shot. The same thoughtfulness and consideration that went into this photo goes into every aspect of the design of your home when you work with us.

I recently got BritBox (don’t ask me what took so long) and my obsession with downstairs kitchens continues. They always have interior glazing — I guess so the butler can keep an eye on the servants from his pantry. I wanted to incorporate a glazed wall in my renovation for other reasons. This pocket door and windows separate the mudroom from the breakfast area so we don’t feel like we’re eating with the shoes but still lets in light. Also there’s a sneak peek into my powder room. Swipe for some of the inspiration that I’m glazing (pun intended).

Mixing patterns is one of my favorite things to do and bedding is a great opportunity to add even more interest. I love the fun color palette in this guest bedroom. Universe I think I’m ready for a boutique hotel project!

The office turned out to be my favorite room in our Turks & Caicos project. The vintage tapestry made in the style of the Egyptian Ramses Wissa Wassef school was gifted by the clients’ friend in remembrance of a safari they went on together and makes the room. I love when we can bring meaningful touches like that into our client’s homes. The batik fabric on the daybed and the Tuareg mat on the floor contribute pattern and texture.

Painting in an abstract style is so much more difficult than realistic. The composition, balance, brush strokes, and color choices are each so much more important. I would say Shelly Denning nailed it, wouldn’t you? And the antique Spanish console is the perfect contrast. I just love the way this powder room turned out.

Some favorite details from our install yesterday! There’s still more to come but this house is shaping up to be one of my favorites. When clients appreciate quality, beauty and all the details, and trust you to implement them, it’s always the best result.

DWR is my go to for iconic early and midcentury pieces like Saarinen tables and Hoffmann chairs. I went in to their beautiful new Paramus location to look at a credenza from USM Haller, a model of precision craftsmanship and quality. The pieces are modern but also classic and timeless. As is the Tolomeo desk lamp. They both mix well with other periods and styles. The store also offers complimentary design services and the associate, Kiana, was super helpful and knowledgeable and made the whole experience a pleasure. While there I also fell in love with some ceramic pieces and a Beni rug, the perfect way to finish the room. If you’re nearby, make sure to stop by the new DWR store to see what inspires you!
