What am I up to today? Well I know I have been quiet since the end of the farmer's market season last Tuesday but I'm racing against weather and time to get a woodworking project finished. Remember the grant I received? Well in all totaled along with personal money I had been saving I got: ( all in unfinished wood)
Weaving supplies:
3 new rigid heddle looms 10'', 16'', & a 32''
2 stands for the looms
15 new shuttles in 5 sizes (3 each size)
7 heddles per loom so 21 in total
A freedom roller ( this allows longer thicker cloth to be woven) and
A weaving bench
Spinning supplies:
A Kromski Minstrel spinning wheel ( bought in April)
3 extra regular bobbins
A jumbo flyer
3 jumbo bobbins
A great jumbo flyer
3 great jumbo bobbins
Spinning wheel chair
This will all allow me to spin any kind of yarn and from it weave any kind of cloth I can imagine. More importantly I now have extra rigid heddle looms and spinning wheels that I can now regularly Teach on! I'm currently sanding, staining, and sealing all this unfinished wood before winter. I am hoping to open classes sometime around Dec/ Jan after everything has been arranged. My color choices as black, purple and green so I hope they look good in the end.
