Quilting and piecing together quilts has brought me sanity while Mom was on hospice and now afterward. Nothing prepares you to lose your Mom, and grief is a crazy ride!
For whatever reason, keeping my hands busy and my mind occupied has helped me to get through life easier, and quiet moments of solitude and sewing are like balm to my soul.
Most of these are quilts I’ve recently finished for family and friends; The T-Shirt quilt I put together for a good friend of ours, design credit goes to Christy Christensen. Some of these are for customers. I’ll say this, I’ve busted into my stash but still have a long way to go!

Beautiful.

Beautiful.

There’s a certain kind of joy that fills the room when your project finally comes to life — a joy stitched with patience, creativity, and love. It’s the quiet thrill of seeing your imagination take form, the warmth of holding something beautiful that once existed only in your mind. ✨

Not everyone understands this kind of happiness — the late nights at the sewing table, the tiny victories when a tricky seam comes together, or the calm that settles in as fabric flows beneath your fingertips. But that’s what makes it so precious. 💛

For makers, creating isn’t just a hobby — it’s a way of expressing the soul. Every stitch carries a story. Every finished piece is a reminder of what passion and persistence can do.

So celebrate your kind of joy — the one that can’t always be explained but can always be felt. Keep creating, keep dreaming, and keep finding beauty in the work of your hands. 🌿

I loved using the pattern called “Twine” to quilt these square, geometric quilts.

The sage/blue quilt was done using a pattern called “Just Can’t Cut It”, by All Washed Up. I used 12 oz. batting in this quilt so it has the puffy feel and look.

The purple/pink/yellow bright quilt pattern is appropriately called “Picnic” - with modifications, and a 100% bamboo batting will make this so cozy to use!

The black Alaska quilt was one I quilted for a customer and friend, also with a 12 oz. batting. The pattern she chose worked so well with the theme and her fabric was just beautiful!

When your backing fabric isn’t quite wide enough, consider this potential solution. Cutting your backing diagonally to piece is an effective approach; the YouTube video link provided below offers a step-by-step walkthrough of the process. Additionally, a worksheet link is mentioned in the video, available at jinnybeyer.com. Have fun!

Cut your backing in half diagonally, shift one side down, sew it back together and presto you've just saved a boat load of fabric & money! And what quilter d...
