Well, the hostage situation has finally come to an end. 😅💻
When I started this business four years ago, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy. I knew there would be late nights, long days, mistakes, setbacks, and plenty of moments where I’d have to figure things out as I went. What I didn’t know was that one day I’d be negotiating with my computer like a hostage negotiator trying to talk someone off a ledge. 😂
Over the last few days, I’ve battled recovery screens, installer errors, permissions issues, external drives, and enough technical jargon to last me a lifetime. More than once I wanted to throw my hands up and walk away.
But that’s the thing I’ve learned over these last four years: sometimes you HAVE to walk away.
Not quit. Not give up. Just walk away for a little while, clear your head, get some sleep, and come back with fresh eyes. More often than not, the solution shows up when frustration leaves the room.
Every challenge tries to convince you that you’re not capable. Every setback whispers that maybe this is the one that breaks you.
But those moments don’t show you your limits. They show you what you’re made of.
Today the computer is back up and running, all my files are safe, and business can get back to business. The lesson wasn’t really about technology at all. It was another reminder that persistence beats panic every single time.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I plan to avoid Recovery Mode, Disk Utility, and anything with the word “encryption” in it for at least the next decade. 😂
