The Super Mario Bros are not overweight. The overalls are to blame; I promise 🤚🏼. Honestly, they most likely have six packs.

This project was stubborn. When I removed the original carpet, the bend in the staircase did not line up from step to step. The peaks were off and the directions curved. Once that was rebuilt, the skirt had no way of making turns or ending. I got a little creative, and it came out great!

Morning laugh- I wanted to experiment with AI capabilities and I asked AI if it could make this ad more entertaining. It told me to hold its b**r and then created a where's Waldo version of the ad🤦🏽. We are clear from AI world domination for now.

This was a fun job. Saltillo tiles have always been my favorite.

We put Talavera tiles on the step, since it was so low and easy to miss — now you can't miss it.

The sun medallion was a bit tricky. I used different colored tiles to build it, and each piece was limited to the size of a tile, so I had to plan the layout just right to stretch the final product. I used the same tile on as many of the smaller pieces as possible to keep the color consistent.

Then I sanded and polished the edges, applied an impregnating sealer, sanded down the top slurry protective coat, and sealed them multiple times with a lacquer finish to replace the stronger sanded shell.

Well worth the work.
