Finally finished my take on a Big Green Egg table. 🪵🔥

I bought this Big Green Egg used from a gentleman in Sun City who owned it for 30 years. It was time to upgrade the grill table it came with though.

I was able to recycle the original legs and shelves. For the rest I needed to hit up Lowe’s.

Wanted something solid with good workspace on either side, storage underneath, and casters so I could move it around the patio. Came out pretty much how I pictured it.

Two of my favorite things kind of collided here — upcycled wood and an excuse to cook outside. Hard to beat that combo.

What do you think? Anything you’d do differently?

Latest delivery 🌿

Built these plant stands for my mom this week. She’s always been a huge plant lover, and it felt good to finally get the plants up off the ground and give them a proper home — framing out the window by their breakfast nook just right.

The wood legs came from my friend Matt, who had an industrial storage area he was clearing out. The tops? Pallet wood I spotted in the parking lot at Lowe’s. Free, full of character, and now living their best life holding plants instead of pallets.

Sometimes the best builds start with materials that just needed a second chance. 🌱🪵

In the name of cleaner lines, I was asked to sell the chest of drawers that lived under the TV. (RIP to what had quietly evolved into a cabinet of clutter.)

So I went down a floating-TV-cabinet rabbit hole and decided to build my own. The carcass is Lowe’s lumber—because sometimes you just need wood that’s mostly straight-ish.

But staying true to form, the drawer fronts are pallet slat cutoffs, and the drawer boxes came from bed slats my buddy Matt Gorman rescued from going to the dump. So let’s call this build ~20% recycled, 80% stubborn creativity.

Now I’m debating:

Drawer hardware… or keep it clean?

The fronts sit proud and slide great as-is, so maybe less is more.

And what even goes in these drawers? Playing cards? Coasters? Remote controls? Secret snacks?

I don't like end grain being visible so I cut strips of 2x and finished the edges. I'll need to wood putty those brad nail heads.

Finish-wise, I’m leaning toward keeping it light—probably an eggshell water-based poly. I love the pale, reclaimed look and don’t want it going full banana over time 🍌.

And we likely need to get some art up on those walls!

As with most of my projects, this is 95% done, which means it may sit like this for a few months before I tackle that last 5%.
Still—fun build, learned a bunch, and no more clutter altar under the TV.

After months of Jessica asking (okay… begging 😅) for a nightstand with an actual drawer, I finally delivered.

This one was equal parts fun and humbling. Built entirely from misfit wood — pallet boards, old decking, and random cutoffs that were just waiting for a second life. The goal was something a little weird, a little beautiful (depending on who you ask), and 100% functional.

It’s my first-ever nightstand, and like any respectable woodworking project, it absolutely required me to buy a new tool. Enter: my new jointer 🙌

Scrap wood, stubborn ideas, and a very patient wife. I’d call this one a win.

Computer Riser from Pallets with LED Lightning.

This riser makes a nice office statement and also helps improve posture by raising your computer monitor. It's also nice to be able to have a spot to slide your keyboard and mouse when not in use.
