I sat and wondered how to accurately express my gratitude. Tried filming this four times, got choked up, and this was the best I could get. I don’t really know how to express how much it means to me to have so many people rally around a cause that is so personally meaningful. So much of building a small art business as a mother has felt like a slow, private, grind. I feel very seen. Thank you.

I can’t wait to update you all as this studio conversion takes shape!

Just a bit over a week until the Kickstarter campaign is over and we have about 30% of the funds to raise! I think it’s still really possible to reach our goal! If you aren’t in a position to give towards the campaign, sharing about it is another great way to help!

I wanted to share some footage that my friend .chriss filmed to tell the story about what we are doing! As much as I don’t love being behind the camera, I’ll cherish this video as a snapshot of this season that we are in! Click on the link in the bio to see the full video and give towards the studio conversion!

We are officially halfway through the Kickstarter with two weeks left and 47% of the funds raised! I am so grateful for each person who has given to this project or sent an encouraging word along the way! Kickstarter is an all or nothing model, so if we don’t raise the total goal, we will not receive any funds for the studio conversion.

I’ve come to think of this effort as a literal barn raising, turning our barn into a studio ready for making skilled and beautiful work. I also know that your time, energy, and resources are valuable. Knowing that makes every gift truly appreciated and treasured. With all of the voices in our world calling for attention, I hope that this reaches those who would find particular joy and camaraderie in participating! ❤️💕

🎉 I’m delighted to share that I was selected to be a part of the Southern Highlands Craft Guild Emerging Artist Program! I’ve admired the SHCG for some time and it’s an honor to be given this opportunity to grow and learn! Thank you to the Southern Highlands Guild for taking a chance on me! These types of opportunities become much more possible when I have the space to dedicate to my work. Please consider giving towards my Kickstarter to help us convert our shed into a permanent studio space so I can continue making work like this and investing in both my family and my community! Special thanks to my friend for these photos!

I’m so grateful to each person who has already given to the Kickstarter! We are already at 28%! Thank you to each one of you and for all the encouraging words along the way! We’ve got exactly three more weeks to see if we can make it all the way! If you feel led to give, the Kickstarter link is in my bio!

Here’s a little update on the design for the Tier 2 reward on the Kickstarter. This simple little contour line sketch will help me map out the dark/light regions, so I remove the right elements when I get ready to carve. It’s always fun to see the this stage because the final carving will be quite different! This piece will be called “A Future Tree”. I’ve been thinking a lot about how much potential can be held in tiny, unassuming little packages. Still ruminating on that idea. More updates to come!

I haven’t been very good with social media these days, but had to share this great class from a few weeks back at the Stecoah Valley Arts Center. These women brought such a varied array of artistic backgrounds from doll making, to water colorist, to interior designer, and it was a delight to see their enthusiasm for Lino print. Thank you to SVAC for having me in your beautiful facility!

Keep your eyes peeled for more classes in the future. I also have a downloadable beginners Lino print course that I highly recommend for anyone who is itching to learn from afar!

Hi, hello, hey there. I’ve mostly been working on commissions these days, which has been a blast, but I’m not able to share as much process at the moment. But I’m still here, still making things, still seeking inspiration in the little things. Speaking of little things swipe to see a lil’ happy fella.

“Won’t You Be My Neighbor” will always be a favorite of mine. ❤️

It was an absolute delight to teach my Intro to Lino Print course at Olive’s Porch, the John C. Campbell Folk School extension in downtown Murphy. This group was thoughtful, intuitive, and committed to the challenge of the medium. I was inspired by the collaboration that happened and how students celebrated each other when they pulled their first test prints!

These in person classes remind me of the power of creating in community. If this is something that you would like to try, please be on the lookout for future Olive’s Porch workshops! I will also be teaching a course at the Stecoah Valley Arts Center May, 31st that still has open spots!

And if you are out of town, click the link in my bio to learn more about my e-course via my website! You could learn everything you need to jump into the world of Lino print from the comfort of your dining room table!

After months of work, I am so excited to share my commission piece for Graham County’s 8th annual Flame Azalea Festival. Thank you to the Graham County TDA for trusting me with a project that I know is near and dear to their heart.

From the native Flame Azalea to the anomaly of Hooper Bald, each depiction was chosen to highlight the culture, flora, and fauna that make this region so rich, creating a patchwork tapestry reminiscent of a quilt.

Come out June 14th for a family event in celebration of arts and our region’s cultural heritage! Hope to see you there!

Details on limited edition prints for purchase to follow! ❤️
