Happy Thursday from The Thrifty Nickel! We hope your week has been filled with sunshine, smiles, and maybe even a little treasure hunting!

Today we are taking a look at one of the most beloved collectibles around the Hen on Nest. These charming covered dishes became especially popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Originally, they were designed to store eggs safely on the kitchen counter while adding a decorative touch to the home. Over the years, they became treasured collectibles with beautiful patterns, colors, and styles made from glass, ceramic, and porcelain.

Many collectors love Hen on Nests because they bring back memories of grandparents’ kitchens and family gatherings. They are a wonderful piece of vintage history that continues to bring joy today!
