We celebrated one year at the new house this weekend 🤍🏡 It seems like just last week and ages ago at the same time. While I don’t miss the stress around that time one bit, I love looking back on the work we’ve done this first year. New floors, fixtures, and paint inside and a TON of work outside thanks to a historical freeze and flood this first year 😑 Swipe to see some before and afters so far ➡️
We still miss our old house so much but know we found this house exactly when we were meant to last year 🙏

Our little bar cabinet has a new attendant 🦀 His shell opens for a little compartment that Connor has been using for surprise gifts from the yard like a leaf or snail shell 🤣 Brass figures are always fun to decorate with and I love finding them of coastal critters. He’s from , the cute new nautical vintage shop here in Rockport (and psst…she just found another one too!)

Presents from little boys may be the most surprising, sweetest, and unexpected things…like a dead cicada on your nightstand found when you go to bed. And there are strict rules it cannot be relocated. So that’s the decor on my nightstand currently…

So weird to walk in here and see a toddler bed 🥺 First night with it last night and he did great! He was 20mins shy of making it to his green wake light, but it wasn’t crazy early and he didn’t fall out, so we’ll take it. Fingers crossed he keeps it up, I’m hoping since he’s four it will be a pretty smooth transition (I know, insane we made it that long in the crib lol)

Obsessed with our new coastal grasses-inspired wreath from Nova Wreaths over our bed! I really struggled with what to put there since we moved in, but knew I wanted something circle and something with an organic touch. to the rescue as usual when their ad showed Lauren’s beautiful work, and I knew a custom wreath would be perfect. She captured my texture and color requests spot-on and it was so nice to be involved in building it with her. Thank you Lauren!!

We are officially a T-ball family ⚾️ While it makes our schedules even more crazy, it’s all worth it to see these little ones out there trying their best (at baseball, and at focusing on general). It’s the funniest hour ever, and they are adorable in all their little gear. Especially when they all start picking flowers for their moms mid-practice 🥺💙

Are all of you in full re-landscaping mode too after that horrid freeze? There was a lot we wanted to tackle this spring at the new house anyway, so we are replanting for things we lost, making new beds, and adding a pond as quick as we can before the Texas heat creeps in. Our favorite pastime right now is taking a shower, opening a cold one, popping Aleves, and passing out at 9pm 👵🏻😴

The last few weeks have been craziness with a week in Houston to celebrate Connors 4th birthday (!) and Matt’s birthday too, and now we have a week at home together thanks to a Covid scare at the daycare 🤦‍♀️ But, this was the prettiest weekend ever so we spent it getting our yard spruced up and new plants planted. Thinking there will be lots of patio meetings in my future this week. Happy Sunday friends!

T-minus two days until we have a four year old! This sweet little boy amazes us every day and is the coolest little sidekick, no matter how insanely frustrating he may be at times 😂. Let the birthday week celebrations commence tomorrow 💙

One week ago we were moving and covering all the plants and wrapping pipes, not really sure what the next few days would bring. Who ever thought within a week we’d go through a record-crushing winter disaster and already be on the other side of it in 70 degree sunny weather. Aside from having water from only 8-5 each day, and boiling it, we are good here with just a few plant losses. Cherishing being comfy at home more than ever now 🙏💙

Our new home and sweet new city are on over 48 hours of no power now, and 12 without water, with temps never getting above 35. We loaded up and came to the inlaws yesterday where the power outages are at least rolling every few hours. There’s no running water, but we are just so thankful to have heat and food. My heart hurts for those with no source of heat, no gas, no food, no water, just freezing homes. Please pray for this to be over.
