The Story of Magnolia June’s Antiques & Mercantile - A Special Pop-Up Store
Magnolia June’s Antiques & Mercantile is more than a shop—it’s a love letter to our mother, Wanda R. Born in Maynardville, Tennessee, on June 2, 1936, Wanda grew up with a strong sense of family, community, and service. Her early years were filled with cherished moments with her parents, Kenneth and Zettie Raley, and her
cousins, whom she regarded as siblings. This foundation of love shaped the woman she became—a trailblazer, a nurturer, and a servant-leader. Wanda co-founded the Raley-Vaughan Motor Company, excelling in business and customer care, where she treated every client as family. From leading one of the first integrated Girl Scout troops in Tennessee to championing healthcare and education initiatives, Wanda made an indelible impact on her community. She poured the same energy into her personal life. With her soulmate and partner, Eddie Kyle Vaughan, she raised a family anchored in love, faith, and dedication to serving others. Together, they were the ultimate team—leading youth programs, supporting the arts, and leaving a legacy of kindness and generosity. Though her accomplishments were many, her greatest joy was her family. She adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who continue to carry her spirit forward. Her dream of opening an antique store in downtown Rogersville was another expression of her love for family and community, envisioning it as a space where memories, stories, and history could be shared and celebrated. After her passing in June 2023, we felt called to bring her dream to life. Every item in Magnolia June’s Antiques & Mercantile reflects her discerning eye and passion for beauty and history. Over the years, she lovingly curated pieces from family collections, special finds, and contributions from friends. Each pop-up opening is a tribute to Wanda’s legacy, offering unique treasures and handmade items, such as custom woodworking by her grandson through Encore Custom Woodworks. Magnolia June’s also serves as a gathering place for friends, family, and the community to honor her memory and celebrate the things she held most dear. We are humbled by the love and support from everyone who has joined us in keeping Wanda’s dream alive. Whether you visit in person or explore the store through our upcoming website, we hope you’ll feel the love and care that made Magnolia June’s possible. Magnolia June’s Antiques & Mercantile is more than a store—it’s a reflection of Wanda’s life, her heart, and the legacy of love she left behind.
