Maxfield Parrish & Fox Prints Gravy Boat Antiques was founded by Gene & Adele Stodghill in 1973. Fox Print selection available at the Gravy Boat.

What was a passion and a hobby became a very successful business. Over the years the Gravy Boat became well known in Northern California for their large inventory of miscellaneous antiques but mostly for their oak furniture. Their 18 wheeler truckload sales became legendary for the quantity and quality of American oak furniture shipped from the East Coast. The Gravy Boat also became well known for

their warm friendly atmosphere and their honest business practices. Mike and Sallie Kay Stodghill, having experienced and been overtaken by the passion, have picked up the mantel and are carrying on the Gravy Boat tradition. We are certain that Gene and Adele would be proud of the Maxfield Parrish and R.A. Dream in Air Castles!

This 110+ year old original print was published for the Ladies Home Journal (this is NOT the magazine cover piece). The print is in great condition. The colors are vibrant and I did not find any blemishes, foxing or tears. The print is in the original ornate gold and blue frame with the original glass. The backing was professionally replaced to preserve the print. The print shown in the “window” is 10 5/8 X 14 5/8. The frame measures 12 1/4 X 16 3/8. This print is ready to display on your wall and bring delight to you and all who view it.

Ahh, the Lady Violetta!

This 90+ year old original book print was published in this one size and one time only for the Knave of Hearts series. The print is in excellent condition. No fading, foxing or tears.This picture from the whimsical story is Lady Violetta about to make tarts. Lady Violetta, could only marry the King of Hearts if she proved herself accomplished in the domestic arts. But Lady Violetta is not a good cook!The Knave substituted the perfect tarts baked by his wife for the inedible ones attempted by Violetta.This book print was professionally framed to enhance the natural beauty. The print shown in the “window” is 9 1/2 x 11 3/4. It is safely encased in an ornate blue and gold frame measuring 12 3/4 by 15 . The piece is marked MP in the lower right hand corner.

Cooking with Potato Chefs!

This 90+ year old original book print was published in this one size and one time only for the Knave of Hearts series. The print is in excellent condition. No fading, foxing or tears.This picture from the whimsical children’s story book shows the cooks happily peeling potatoes in order to prepare for the wedding feast of the King and Lady Violetta.This book print was professionally matted and framed to enhance the natural beauty of the print. The print shown in the “window” is 4 x 9 1/8. It is safely encased in an ornate gold frame measuring 7 1/4 by 12 1/2. This charming vintage 1925 Maxfield Parrish print was published by Charles Scribner's Sons. On the dust cover of the back of the frame there is documentation, regarding artist, history, copyright year etc. The artist signature, "M P", is located on the stools the chefs are seated on.

The print is in great condition. No fading, foxing or tears. The colors are vibrant and I did not find any blemishes. The print is in the original gold and blue frame with the original glass and original backing. The print shown in the “window” is 10 1/8 X 13 1/2. The frame measures 12 1/8 X 15 5/8. The original backing is in place but this will be replaced at no charge prior to shipment if the buyer requests it since some buyers desire the original backing.This print is ready to display on your wall and bring delight to you and all who view it.
