9 years ago, I walked out of the classroom for the last time.

It was a job I thought I'd be in forever. It was all I thought I knew how to do. But I decided to gamble on running my own business instead.

What followed was a huge learning curve, to say the least.

Going from a guaranteed monthly salary to hustling for every penny was a massive mindset shift. It stressed me out constantly so much that I went back to what felt safe: a job, a salary, security.

That lasted 5 years. Until the dreaded lay-off day.

I'd never been laid off before. It was an emotional rollercoaster anger, upset, a lost sense of identity, and the daunting task of starting over. I found another job after 6 months. A year later, I was laid off again.

This time was different. I wasn't upset. I felt like the universe was trying to tell me something, and I finally listened.

That something was the work I do now.

I've gone full circle back to "kids" just not in a classroom. In my own space, helping young people launch into a world that looks nothing like the one I grew up in.

Parents today are doing their best with what they have. But the world is changing faster than any playbook can keep up with, and most families are figuring it out as they go.

That's exactly why I'm here partnering with families to help their young adults understand today's world, so they can actually survive it… and get off their parents' payroll.

Do you have a young adult struggling to make adult decisions?

Follow or connect with me, and let's talk about how I can help get them launched.
