We’re so excited to start sharing more of the behind-the-scenes details that bring these projects to life.

Today was countertop installation day, and while most people focus on the stone selection, there are so many other decisions that shape the final design. Beyond choosing between quartzite, marble, granite, and more, every installation requires thoughtful planning. Where will the stone be used? Will there be ledges? How high should the backsplash go? What edge profile works best? Where will seams fall? Should we incorporate an apron-front sink?

In this project, we’re even carrying the stone onto the ceiling of the stove alcove.

The lighter stone is Bianco Superior Quartzite, and the darker stone is Madeirus Quartzite. Every detail has been carefully considered, and we can’t wait to show you the finished result.

Sometimes posting a pretty picture on Memorial Day feels small compared to the weight of what this day truly means.

No tablescape, gathering, or celebration could ever fully represent the gratitude we have for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom 🇺🇸

But maybe the gathering itself is the reminder. The freedom to slow down, share a meal, laugh with family, and create memories together exists because of the brave. It’s not just a long weekend.

Today we remember and honor those who gave everything for our country. May we never forget.

One of our favorite places to source furniture and decor isn't a showroom — it's Facebook Marketplace. The character, the patina, the story that comes with a piece someone else already loved... none of it comes in a box. Here's a little behind the scenes of Mom teaching us her methods (she has methods) 😂 Comment FB and we'll send you the full video. We can't wait to hear your best find.

I wanted to give you a peak inside one of our current projects! We're a mother-daughter studio designing kitchens, baths, whole-home renovations and new builds across the Dallas area.
Swipe through for a peek at a kitchen we're finishing right now — the Eckert Residence. It walks through how we run a project: every wall drawn before demo, every finish chosen before the trades show up, 1,000 decisions narrowed down to a few that are actually yours. So designing your home stays the fun part, the way it's supposed to be.
We offer consultations every Friday and would love to learn about your project! Comment DESIGN SERVICES for service details.

Mom’s bedroom is painted in Sherwin Williams Shoji White. It’s creamy, warm, and somehow it never tips into yellow.
But here’s the thing about Shoji you have to know: it doesn’t always behave the same twice. We just used the exact same color for an entire downstairs on a current project and it reads completely different than it does in this room. It’s not as pigmented in our project than it is at mom’s. I actually have this color on my exterior and it reads much brighter.
This is why we tell everyone to sample paints on more than one wall and look at it in the morning, at noon, and again at golden hour. White undertones shift more than most people expect, and the only real way to know how a color will live in your house is to live with the swatch for a few days.
Shoji made our list when we rounded up nine of our favorite creamy paint colors in a recent video. Comment SHOJI and we’ll send you the full list — including the ones we’d reach for if Shoji isn’t quite right for your space.

While this space isn’t technically a powder bath since it has a shower it does function as one for us! Powder baths are where we stop apologizing — small, brief, the one room in the house that can afford to task risks. This wallpaper from made the case the second it went up. What we didn’t expect was that it would set the entire mood for the guest room next door. We’re sharing the guest room in our YouTube video Thursday along with our favorite tips for shopping FB Marketplace. I can’t wait to share.

Here’s the question we ask every client who tells us they don’t know where to start: what space feels like a true escape to you? Not what style do you want. Not what’s trending. What place — real or imagined — makes you breathe a little deeper when you picture it.
Because a beautifully designed home is layered and one of the most powerful layers is the one that quietly references the corner of the world that already feels like yours. The straw hat by the back door. The blue and white you collect without a plan. The brass lantern. The plaster wall. The painting of a boat you’ll never own. None of it has to match. All of it has to mean something. That’s how a home gets its storied feel.
So this summer, we’re leaning all the way into that. Not coastal. Not French country. Not transitional. Just the corners of the world that already feel like ours.
What place feels like an escape to you? Tell us in the comments that’s your first design decision if you were needing a little push 🤍

Renderings are one of the biggest keys to a successful renovation or new build.

For this bathroom, the rendering completely changed our direction on color selections. Our original inspiration leaned high-contrast, but once we saw it brought to life, we realized the black tile and paint felt too heavy for the space.

Softening the palette made all the difference—and brought the vision to life in a way we could feel confident about.

Honestly… we were very glad we didn’t “wing it” on this one.

Swipe to see the befores—they’re wild.
