As many of you know when I acquired this house it was in a state of awful disrepair. I had to clear off an enormous amount of trees from the front yard to get light into the house.

The landscape designer suggested that we terrace the front lawn and create a sculpture garden in the middle flanked by birch trees.

When I finally got to this portion of the project Barry and I sat down for a couple weeks and kept playing with ideas and concepts.

I have always loved the grasshopper sculpture by Tony Smith in front of the and used that as the basis for how I would proceed with this design. Because my house sits so high on the hill it was important that the best part of the design be seen from above.

Stay tuned the night view as I am working on the sculpture lighting.
