Check out this very unique gas fireplace. I serviced last year in Detroit Michigan. This particular fireplace was unique because it had a rock wool type material that would ignite when you lit the burner. Essentially, it was like this sheet of rock wool covering the front and that’s what you see burning in the photograph. The fire box itself was probably no deeper than 10 inches.

Just installed this 24 inch Empire ventless with ceramic logs. Personally, I’m a big fan of ventless products. Number one they are much cheaper to operate and then you have the added benefit of heat. Unlike vented, gas logs, ventless provide warmth.

Uninstalling the existing gas log and installing a custom 48 inch gas log with a high capacity millivolt control on a remote.

Does the glass on your Direct Vent Fireplace look like this? I can tell you from firsthand experience if you don’t clean this annually, chances are you’re never gonna get all of it off.

This is a mineral deposit, you will need a special type of ammonia free fireplace glass door cleaner to remove it.

This particular fireplace in the photograph was not annually maintenance and unfortunately, I was not able to remove all of the mineral deposit. Check the comments to see the difference.

Just finished installing a custom ceramic traditional vent free gas log set with remote in West Bloomfield. If you are not familiar with “vent free”, this type of gas log is designed for heat.
