A heartfelt thanks to all our friends, old and new, who came out to support us at the Rural Valley Pumpkinfest today. Thanks for your patience when we were busy, thank you for your purchases, and thank you for your orders! We appreciate those of who just looked, those who just stopped in to say hi, and those who took a minute to catch up with us with all the business of our lives. We met some new friends today, and we're grateful for you, too!
As always, we will send the entire amount of today's sales to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research. Thank you so much for being a part of this with us!

It's been a few days (or a week) since I've posted our Mostly Oak Woodcrafts pictures, so tonight you'll get several. We've had a lot of "works in progress" and not a lot of finished ones, until now. See anything you like?

Mostly Oak Woodcrafts will be open Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10-3. We will be closed the following week to get ready for the RV Pumpkin Festival. Our walls, shelves, and cubby holes are full, and we have more to finish and put out. Come see us and bring a friend! Our showroom is at 643 Cessna Run Road, Rural Valley. Hope to see you soon!

OK, seriously, enough with the pumpkin pictures. But we have quite a variety, from plain to all decorated, real-ish to whimsical, large and little, and still others on the workbench waiting to be finished the night before the Pumpkin Festival in Rural Valley. Mostly Oak here with some new items. We're heading back to language arts for a minute here. Did you know that the collective noun for a group of foxes is called a skulk or a leash? How about a flock of crows? They are actually called a murder of crows. I love that one! There are some really odd collective nouns. Do you know the name for a group of snowmen? That's one that'll make you go "huh?" What are some other oddball collective nouns you've heard of?

Are you someone who goes all out to decorate for seasons and holidays? I used to be, but I'm doing less each year. Still, an occasional pop of color does say "Oh, hello, Fall!" We'll have these little block of cheer available at the Pumpkin Festival in Rural Valley in just a few short weeks. Come see us at Mostly Oak Woodcrafts.

I didn't want to post Christmas items yet, but the seasons are all mixed up at the Shaw house. These are lilacs, and they are in bloom now. For real. I didn't have any in the spring, but what can I do but enjoy them now. Hope you enjoy the Santa gnomes as well. Merry, Happy Everything!

Here are a few more pumpkins for the Rural Valley Pumpkin Festival that will be on Sept. 26. I absolutely love the segmented ones, and each year I intend to make one out of solid cherry for me. Well, each year I make a few and before I know it, they're gone. Do I make a few extra or do I hide them and forget about them until Christmas?

I finally finished a few pumpkins. There are lots more in the making, but two people working in a small workshop with one workbench and projects in various stages of development piled everywhere... it's a wonder he lets me in there at all. ☺️
