~Major Winter Storm Saturday-Monday Night~
A high-impact winter storm is expected to bring significant snowfall totals to portions of the region this weekend and next Monday. The highest totals are expected in southeast MN, central WI, and northern MI where 12-18", potentially up to 2' is expected. Amounts lower pretty fast the further north you go, but many areas in central and southern MN will likely pick up at least 6-12". The area with the highest uncertainty is still between the I-90 and I-80 corridor because of the rain/snow line and backside snow. Blizzard conditions are increasingly likely for portions of MN, WI, and MI, which will create near-impossible travel conditions at times. Snowfall rates will likely reach around 2" an hour for several hours straight.
