Love, love indigo color textiles. Wonderful to find out about the Chinese minority groups and their skills. These hill tribes in Guizhou province produce indigo textile using glaze process with egg whites and pounding the fabric until a metallic like sheen appears. Photos of the village by France Leclerc are beautiful.

Since I have many bottles of red wine that are no longer drinkable, I will dye fabrics with this old wine. In college decades ago, I had a textile project to dye fabrics using red cabbage, but never tried using red wine.

In the following article is one method for dying fabric with wine. For me, I plan to boil the wine down longer so dyed fabric will have deeper color.
