There is a lot that happens before a space is photo-ready.

Layouts are developed.
Furniture is specified.
Finishes are selected.
Budgets are reviewed.
Lead times are confirmed.
Orders are placed.
Acknowledgments are checked.
Freight is tracked.
Delivery is coordinated.
Installers are scheduled.
Details are reviewed.
Punchlists are completed.

And then, finally, the space comes together.

At KDI, we manage both the design and the furniture process, which means we are thinking about the full picture from the first idea to the final install.

22 years of KDI 🎉

It’s hard to put into words what this milestone means to me. I’ve had the privilege of watching this company grow from an idea my parents believed in into the talented, creative and resilient team we are today.

KDI has been part of my life for so long, but stepping into the business and helping shape its future has given me an entirely new appreciation for everything it takes to build something that lasts. There have been exciting wins, challenging seasons, countless lessons and so many people who have played a part in our story.

I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve created, the relationships we’ve built and the team that continues to push us forward. Thank you to our clients, partners, vendors, friends and every member of the KDI Team, past and present, who has helped us reach this milestone.

Long weekends have a way of reminding us how important gathering spaces really are.

The patio where everyone ends up.
The rooftop that becomes the best seat in the building.
The clubroom that hosts the party.
The pool deck that turns into the place to be.
The lounge where people stay longer than planned.

In commercial design, these spaces have to do a lot. They need to be welcoming, flexible, durable, comfortable, and ready for the way people actually use them.

That is where thoughtful design and the right furniture selections make all the difference.

The best amenity spaces do more than look good.

They bring people together.

A rooftop lounge, outdoor kitchen, pool deck, clubroom, or resident lounge can completely change the way people experience a property. These spaces become places to gather, host, relax, work, celebrate, and connect.

But that does not happen by accident.

The layout has to make sense. The furniture has to be comfortable. The materials have to hold up. The lighting has to feel right. The space has to be easy to use, easy to maintain, and inviting enough that people actually want to spend time there.

Pretty is great. Performance is better. ✨️

In commercial interiors, furniture has to do more than look good in a photo.

It has to survive real life.

Spills. Stains. Cleaning. Heavy traffic. People moving chairs around. Guests lingering. Residents hosting. Teams meeting. Kids climbing. Coffee being coffee.

That beautiful chair? It still needs to be comfortable, cleanable, durable, properly scaled, and backed by the right commercial warranty.

At KDI, we love a pretty space as much as anyone, but we are always thinking about what happens after installation day.
