Added this monster of a sailfish to the shop today, measuring a whopping 9 feet 7 inches! 😳

I don’t know why, but these old fish mounts are so nostalgic. I swear everyone has seen one hanging on a wall somewhere growing up. Whether it was in a restaurant, at Grandpa’s house, or some random place you can’t even remember.

You guys often ask, “So what do you like to collect?” And for the most part, you’re looking at it every time you stop in. I sell what I love, what draws my eye and what I’d want to own myself.

But one thing I personally collect is advertising with mountain themes or wildlife. Bears, elk, moose, fish, anything that has that outdoorsy mountain feel.

Here’s a couple I picked up this week that made it straight into the personal collection…

First is a 1964 Forest & Stream and Phillips 66 crossover banner, complete with the original fishing guide it displayed. A lot of these banners simply didn’t survive, and the condition on this one is exceptional.

Then there’s this Cascade Bourbon sign with one of the most beautiful designs I’ve seen. Cascade got its name from Cascade Hollow, where the original distillery was built alongside its water source. The artwork plays right into that history, showing the waterfall flowing through the bottle and coming out as bourbon into the glass.

Advertising is one of my favorite things to collect because they really used to put some thought and creativity into it. Advertising today doesn’t compare to the past. I bet if companies brought some of that creativity back, they’d sell a little more🤷🏽‍♂️

I love vintage watches and have always wanted to carry them, but they’re just a little out of my wheelhouse. So we partnered with someone who knows them!

yourdadsoffice is now supplying The Wright Shop with vintage watches! The name couldn’t fit in better around here either. We built the showcase around that old-school office feel, filled with the kind of things you might’ve found in your dad’s office many, many years ago.
