Famous for its dramatic fjords, soaring mountains, and storied history, Norway is home to the indigenous Sámi people and the descendants of the Norse—boasting a rich, vibrant heritage of folk art.

In our Winter Arts Camp: Passport to Norway, young artists journey through traditional Nordic culture while creating meaningful, keepsake projects:

—Rich Nordic Traditions: Explore colorful floral rosemaling painting, uncover the mysteries of ancient Viking runes, craft mischievous folklore Nisse gnomes, and design intricate Sámi-inspired faux silverwork.

—Inventive Creative Reuse: Campers stretch their imaginations using an eclectic variety of unique, upcycled treasures sourced from ArtScraps, blending sustainable making with authentic craftsmanship.

—Engaging, Screen-Free Break: Designed specifically for ages 6–12, our collaborative environment turns winter downtime into two full days of focused curiosity, skill-building, and artistic adventure!

Join us for one or two December sessions and let your camper bring the warmth, lore, and artistry of Scandinavia home! artstart.org/winter-art-camp
