The first batch of a new magnet design with hand drawn images of the New Harmony Door of Promise, the Roofless Church and the Rapp- Owen Granary. The drawing is fused onto the glass at 1500F, making it a permanent part of the glass. Come by my booth at Kunstfest to see them.

Kunstfest 2026 is coming in 2 weeks to New Harmony, Indiana. Emmerich Glass & Clay will be in the Ribeyre Gymnasium again. This craft, antiques, and food fair will be on Saturday Sept 19th through Sunday the 20th. Come by my booth and see my new hand made pieces made from fused glass, and hand thrown/ hand built stoneware pieces made of clay.. I hope to see you there!!!

These are just some of the pieces I pulled from the kiln yesterday. The hand built sushi platters and bowls turned out great. I love the new design for the self draining soap holders. Illinois ornaments have been added at the request of several New Harmony craft fair attendees. ( I also have Indiana shaped ornaments available.) Now it’s back to making more fused glass vases for the Christmas in New Harmony Craft Fair in 2 weeks on Dec 6th. I hope you can make it.

I had a disaster yesterday morning with my kiln. My relatively new relays, the parts that regulate the heating elements, didn’t want to turn off when they were supposed to. The temperature in the kiln just kept climbing and climbing. I ultimately had to pull the wall plug out of the socket just to get it to turn off. 4 cardinal, 2 cat, and 2 lavender vases all ended up over heating and turning into melted blobs of glass. (I think the cats look the funniest with their distorted faces). Fortunately, Georgie’s Ceramics in Portland had replacement relays, and I am now back in business trying to fire glazed pottery before we leave for Indiana this weekend. First world problems, eh?
