We are praying to have power restored today, but even if it is, there just won't be enough time for me to get everything prepared and ready for market tomorrow.

This has been such a difficult and exhausting week, and I truly appreciate everyone's patience, support, and understanding as we work through the storm damage and cleanup.

I do have some homemade granola and pancake mixes available if anyone would like some! I'm happy to meet in town for pickup—just send me a message.

Thank you all for supporting Carter's Bakery and Farmstand. I am looking forward to getting back to baking as soon as possible. 💚

As many of you know, my family and I live west of town and we have a farmstand, garden, main home and are currently working on a bakery in our second house on the property. Last night's storm left behind far more damage than we could have imagined.

We had trees uprooted and several tree limbs strewn across our property. The garden was a mess but we are thankful that many of our plants will hopefully survive. The farmstand was pushed off its footings, and the weather head was torn from our house, leaving us without power. We also had tree branches driven through the siding of our home and into the breezeway between our garage and main house. To add to the heartbreak, my favorite stained-glass window in the bakery house was shattered.

It's been an exhausting and emotional day as we've worked to assess the damage and begin the cleanup. While all of these things are replaceable, that doesn't make it any easier to see the places and things you love damaged so suddenly.

Through it all, we are incredibly grateful that everyone is safe and extremely thankful for family and friends help. Material things can be repaired or replaced, and for that blessing we are thankful.

Because of the damage, lack of power, and the unstable condition of the farmstand, we will be CLOSED until further notice while we work through repairs and get everything back in order.

Thank you all for your patience, support, and understanding during this difficult time. We will share updates as we are able and look forward to serving you again when it's safe to do so.

My husband and I spent our last kid-free day this past Sunday cooking a wonderful meal together using my freshly made sourdough tortillas. 🌮❤️

Our menu included grilled shrimp tacos topped with a spicy, garden-fresh herb chimichurri, fresh salad greens straight from the garden, and lime rice. It was the perfect way to spend a quiet day together and enjoy a meal made from fresh, simple ingredients. 🍤 🦐 🌿🌶🥗🥬🍚

🎂 Weddings, birthdays, and cakes galore! 🎂

Just a quick update from Carter's Bakery:

Moving forward, I will no longer be accepting special orders for cakes, cupcakes, and other custom confections on weekends when I am scheduled at the market.

Between baking for the market, preparing inventory, and balancing family and work commitments, I need to make sure I can continue providing the best quality products and service possible.

If you already have an order booked with me that falls on a market weekend, no worries—your order is still on my calendar and will be completed as planned!
