I get to see and work on so many cool and amazing one of a kind art pieces. This antique mirror from 1781 was found in Switzerland. It was not crated as needed and The Original SILVERED mirror came shattered. I was contracted to magically reproduce “the aged mirror”. It took me two tries. But I got it!! The original mirror was in 2 pieces with all edges having a glorious also custom 1” perimeter bevel. I visited my client for another project and am thrilled to see this stunning piece in it’s new and now forever home in Holladay, Utah.

Doesn’t look so exciting until after I am done. Lol. Completely. Installations are Not my favorite, but in doing so, I do then get photos. This is one of 2 panels. They are installed on either side of the fireplace located in a home in Sugarhouse, aka ‘Sugarhood’ for the win with all clear bevels and clear textured perimeter. Altho no colored glass, it is still stained glass leaded window.

As long as components won’t get corroded and ick with flux and especially won’t melt when time to solder, you can foil up or lead came apply design elements into a one if a kind art piece. FYI tho, when applying 700°F+ degree temps, things can swelter and smell. 🤢 The starfish about knocked me out.

The mix of clear textures, different sizes of lead and design purposes for fun are the lead overlay on some rails is just so incredibly timeless and powerful. These 2 abstract panels live on either side of the fireplace windows in a vaulted great room. Residential application.
