Habitat for Humanity has some incredible programs, including the Critical Home Repair program we participated in this week. They provide necessary safety and maintenance work to homeowners in need. Often this system is helping individuals aging in place who are physically unable to do the needed work and can not afford to hire help.

Yesterday the team showed up to remove a decayed deck that was a safety hazard, pruned trees, removed over a dumpsters worth of yard debris, and began the preparations for building a new deck.

Our team showing up for just part of a day provided this homeowner with over 80 hours of help, it was incredible to see what can be accomplished with this many hands!

We have long said that good design starts with good people.

At our Community & Culture panel this fall it became apparent that the sentiment is true.

During the conversation we loved this sentiment shared by Erin Hayes of Peak Projects, “Commitment, honesty, building relationships when you don’t need anything from that relationship, ultimately builds a community - look at the opposite, what would it look like without that, if you didn’t build a community, professionally or personally, it would not be very fulfilling.”

We couldn’t agree more that life and work are more fulfilling when we build community. Thank you to everyone who was in attendance and makes this industry what it is!

10k!!

In the social media world where people have millions of followers, it can be easy to diminish what still feels like a great accomplishment for us at LS Studio! So we are celebrating the milestones that happen when you commit to passionately showing up again and again.

Reflecting back over a couple of decades when it was just me drawing by hand at night after putting the kids to bed, then adding a few team members working from my home while balancing kids growing up, driving carpools and countless lacrosse games. And now as I am working with a superbly talented team and the most incredible trade partners, I sometimes have to pinch myself! It’s been a wildly fulfilling, and lesson filled journey that’s not close to completion.

Thank you to all of you who have been with me from the very beginning! And thanks to those who are with us now and trust us and allow us to be part of designing places where you create your stories. I am grateful for those who have recommended LS Studio to your friends and family. A huge welcome to all of our new friends, online and in real life. We are so excited to get to know you!

The goal has never been about building a following. For me it has always been about building that human connection and designing for our clients and working with amazing industry partners who align with our values.

So thank you for joining us on this journey and cheers to many more chapters!

Starting things off strong on a new exciting project with BERG Design Architects and Walk Your Plans Utah.

Walking through the space digitally with the clients before diving into design is such an incredible tool. It allows everyone on the project to join the clients in working through exactly how their home will function long before it comes to life.

This is the result of decades of hard work, countless nights working from the kitchen table and believing that this design studio could be something so much more. Working in a space where we can show up, do the work, engage with each other, learn from each other, and provide our clients with the very best is truly a joyful thing to be a part of.

In the early stages of a project we spend time talking with our clients, understanding what the end goal of the space is and the places and experiences that bring them joy, tranquility, excitement - whatever the space needs.

That’s where we start - pulling initial concepts from fashion, nature, culture and beyond.

This creative prompt: spend a few minutes in the library creating a scheme based off our daily views of Mt. Olympus.

Remember, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use the more you have.”

Officially half way through 2026! I have always been an avid goal setter and love reflecting on the passage of time, focusing on where we have been and where we are going. The first half of the year was filled with growth, change, challenges and exciting new opportunities. I am looking forward to the second half of the year with optimism and gratitude.
I would encourage everyone to take a moment today to slow down and sit with yourself this middle of the year. - Leslie

The entry sets the stage to welcome friends and family. It is a space that contains many of our favorite art pieces, and furniture collected over time.
The rug was an heirloom from my parents time living in Pakistan. The chest is antique found on a trip spent exploring Santa Fe. The paintings have been collected over many years, found from wandering galleries - one of mine and Jon's favorite ways to spend time.
Complete with newly plastered walls, gold leaf wall covering and a new favorite chandelier.
