I had the absolute pleasure of attending a paint retreat with Tracey’s Fancy this weekend! I met some of the most amazing women on the planet and we all painted our hearts out!
I didn’t meet my piece until Friday night so had no idea what I was getting into or going to do with her one I saw it.
It was just me, my piece, a ruler, a pencil, a brush and some paint (or so I thought), it turns out (it was 58 women) me, my piece and my supplies.
My personal challenge: (to free hand paint my checks and stripes) and boy did I push myself. I even have the “check neck” to prove it! 🤣
The energy in that place from every wonderful new friend that I made allowed the magic to happen!

Chicago Grey in Annie Sloan chalk paint for the win! Mixed with colors Graphite and Old Ochre. Plus a little (or maybe a lot🤭) of raised stenciling. I wanted vintage, shabby chic with a lacy like look and that’s exactly what I got! Sealed with a mix of clear, dark and black waxes for detailing.

I dont usually like to paint over inlaid pieces but the inlay on this piece was beyond restoring. I went for a stone look using lots of texture with a stipple technique. Painted in Annie Sloan’s Coco, sealed in black and clear wax and accented with a gold gilding wax. I always love how dark wax helps beautiful hidden details pop!
