Relief printing introduction intended to provide the basics in designing, printing and inking your very own relief print. Meant for individuals with little to no experience who want to learn methods on how to print at home. You will also leave with a great understanding of printmaking materials and guidance when buying supplies on your own in the future. This is a beginner relief printmaking class so all materials will be provided but, it is highly suggested to come to class with a 4”x6” design ready to go so we can focus on developing new skills.
At the end of this class participants should leave with a good understanding of the fundamentals of relief printing (translating drawings to a relief print, transferring these designs to the matrix, carving safety/inking techniques, paper registration, editioning, material identification), they will also leave with the confidence to purchase their own supplies and begin printing at home.
