An old oak tree in Oak Cliff holds the neighborhood's hopes and dreams.

Thousands of wishes written on colorful pieces of paper decorate the tree. They've been left there anonymously over the last few years by thousands of people passing by or stopping for lunch. One of our interesting stops with my daughters and granddaughters in Dallas.

Enjoying this cool rainy day and getting in the holiday spirit with a slice of Collin Street bakery fruitcake and spiced hot tea. Think this is what means in her new book Living Well by Design. I know, I am in the minority when it comes to loving fruitcake, but my grandfather (Gron to us) also loved it which brings back happy Christmas memories. So please enjoy the small things in life this holiday season and have a wonderful Christmas. Live your life well.
