Oak is a material that gets better with age – deepening in tone and character with every year that passes.

This San Antonio residence was finished throughout in French oak – wide plank in the kitchen, chevron through the hallway.

Set against the stone, tile, and white cabinetry, it's a floor that will only improve with the life lived on it.

Not every conference table gets hoisted through a window. This one did.

BMC needed a centerpiece for their Atlanta headquarters – a single conference table running 5 feet wide and 30 feet long.

We supplied two bookmatched walnut slabs, which the BMC team finished off site before packaging them up, lifting them through the window, and joining them together on location.

The grain runs the full 30 feet without a break. Not a bad thing to walk into on a Monday morning.

A considered ceiling changes the entire proportion of a room. The ceiling is the fifth wall — and wood is one of the few materials that does it justice.

Planked, panelled, or expressed as structure — wood overhead gives a space a warmth and coherence that's hard to achieve any other way.

Our Reclaimed Hand Hewn Beams were made over 100 years ago. Squared by hand, axe against log, one face at a time. In fact, the chop marks left behind are still visible on every beam we stock.

Hewn faces, wooden peg holes, mortise pockets, and the density of genuinely old-growth wood. Available for ceiling and decorative applications.

We've been sourcing and grading reclaimed beams since before flooring was part of the business. It's where our knowledge of reclaimed wood began.

Ever noticed a subtle shimmer in certain wood floors – silver-toned flecks that seem to catch the light at a different angle from the rest of the grain?

Those are medullary rays. Channels that carried nutrients through the living tree. When oak is quartersawn – cut at a specific angle through the log – they appear on the surface of every board.

It's one of those details that's easy to walk past, and hard to forget once you know what you're looking at.

The octagonal library at Turnberry Manor traces its form directly to a dovecote – a traditional French pigeon house with a vaulted roof and central lantern at the top.

Architect Michael G. Imber took that reference and translated it into a full-height timber frame pavilion at a private residence in San Antonio, Texas.

Reclaimed white oak beams carry the structure above. Rift and quartered white oak panelling, bookshelves, and wainscoting line the walls below.

This is what happens when you commit to a single species and trust it completely.

The oldest thing in this room took over a century to look this way.

Wheaton Wallboard is reclaimed from barns and structures across the U.S. – pale ash, weathered grey, deep brown. A century of exposure on every board.

Used here as a full-height room divider in a contemporary Austin home, the aged boards sit against clean walls, wide plank floors, and modern furniture without missing a beat.

Wood in desert light has a particular quality – it absorbs rather than reflects, and brings a liveability that harder materials don't.

In Casa 13, perched on the north slope of Camelback Mountain, that quality does a lot of work.

Our Poplar plank runs from the interior living spaces out to the shaded patios, holding the connection between inside and out without interrupting the sightlines.

Walnut flooring pairs with Portuguese limestone inside, grounding the lighter architecture with warmth and density.
