Look at this throwback of a young Jalen Brunson standing next to the Black Mamba himself. When Kobe Bryant said these words, it was a literal blueprint for how he lived every single day of his life.

​Fast forward to today, and you can see that precise Mamba DNA shining through in Brunson's game. The footwork, the absolute refusal to back down, the clutch gene, it all comes from absorbing that mindset. Kobe left a piece of his mentality with every single player from the next generation who was willing to listen and put in the work.

​If you aren't striving to be the absolute best version of yourself in whatever you do, it's time to re-evaluate. That is the ultimate legacy of Kobe Bean Bryant.

WHEN NIGHT COMES

I will rise upon the stars one day,
shining brightly in the night,
with a heavenly stay.

Resting in the Spirit with my Maker,
no longer concerned with the earthly ills -
bills, wars,
or the need for peacemakers.

Being in eternal prayer
for the universe beyond the thoughts of man,
a servant of a greater cause,
helping other angels
as much as I can.

My spirit will fly and soar the universe,
touching stars and quasars
unimagined, not even by the incredible and great mind
of Carl Sagan.

My new purpose will be revealed
by my Maker in heavenly codes;
only then will I fully understand
the significance of the Word
I was once told.

I will then arise anew
in a cacophony of spiritual joy,
springing forward the gifts and blessings
of my Father’s universe -
giving more abundantly and widely,
guided by a new mission
and understanding of every spiritual verse.

I will rise higher
than any missile, jet or plane,
not constrained by invisible earthly forces,
or being in a pod.

I have reached the apex of understanding:
the Alpha through the Omega,
the insanity of humanity,
the outer limits of the unknown.

In the night of space,
I have kissed the face of God.
